This ever happen to yall?

So Im driving around town taking a friend of mine home, pull up to a 3 way stop(a new road just opened) and I see this camaro go by, a newer but not brand new one. I proceed down the road and come up to a red light where he is stopped at.

I pull up and stop behind him.
THe light turns green..and apperently between the green light and my neons, it made him "horny" b/c he launches off the stop and takes off..

I catch up to him and hes pokin along and then he starts to speed up.
I accelerate a little bit and go into the other lane and pace with him, yes I meant to say Pace

then We get into a single lane again and he slows down a little bit...then we get to another redlight

THis time He decides to be stupid..he pokes along..
then as we get to speed he tries to brake check me(ppl have tried before but they never mess me up doin that"

I back off a little bit, Look to make suer there is no oncoming trafffic I then get on it and pass him, hitting probaly around 65-70 then when I have enough room I get back into the lane...

It dual lanes again and I go to turn off seeeing as he doesnt want to run with me, then he comes flying past....WOW BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT!

I maen if he thought he had the power to mess with me, why didnt he run with me?

ANyone have this problem?

the problem with acting like an idiot on public roads or not knowing when to quit screwing around on surface streets?

Don't be a punk kid. Drive safely on the streets. we just lost one of our friends to wreckless driving. You in a hurry to meet him?

EXACTLY- I have never been a fan of street racing, its pointless- Take it to the Track- thats just IMO- if the track is closed- no need to act like an asshat- again just IMO

Well, for one, I dont think that 65mph with no traffic around is that drastic, or drastic enough to twist a thread out of line, and If there was a track around here, I would go to it.

but considering theres no track around here, I really cant see how law expects to cut down on racing,

This town is retarded, If someone requested to have a track made, and had a ton of ppl backing him or her, it still wouldnt happen, this town has more money than people thinks it does, but it ends up in peoples pockets and not the town..

now if i ran 100+ like I used to I cuold understand the yelling or lecturing but oh well..
I just dont understand, which I will find out more than likey, on how any other thing posted in "racing stories" It seems that 95% of the ones I read, do not end up like this...

oh well...

no'one yelled or lectured. I was just letting you know that one of our friends died by not obeying traffic laws.

I dont comment on other street racing stories but since this just happened I felt it neceessary to maybe impart some wisdom.

If you feel street racing or street pestering is ok because you may have to drive somewhere else to go to a track then go right ahaead but no'one here is going to think it's cool or congratulate you anymore.

when you're older you'll understand.

Sorry if it seemed like I was coming off harsh too, just pointing out my opinion- I have people trying to race me all the time thinking that a N/A auto Pro is fast. My husband is the same way as me- people try to get him to race and he always tells them to take it to the track and doesnt satisfy them by running them, he will just slow down. Street Cred doesnt mean much to him or any of our friends anymore- He would rather continue his trophy winning here in SF than get a ticket on the streets.

Thing is if you owned a Evo or a decently quick ride say 13-14 second 1/4, you would do the same thing- to cars that look just like yours.

That stems from the so called "Ricer" stigma that comes from Neons on cars. People see that and think, haha, i bet that car is all show and no go, so they test you. People generally see a car with that kind of stuff done to it, i.e. a big gaudy spoiler, or neons or even a huge coffee can exhaust, and they think it would be funny to prove they are faster. This is especially true for people who own American muscle such as a Camero or a mustang. In my opinion, it just makes u look stupid (not saying u are stupid )when u TRY to race cars like this with a little Protege. I get dogged by Mustangs and all sorts of newer Diesel pickups ( Not very many Protege's stand a chance against a fixed up Powerstroke or a Cummins), I just realize that I probably don't stand a chance so I don't even try. It helps avoid looking like a wanna be ricer and foremost an idiot. Now occasionally I have been provoked by the occasional Honda who thought they were bad *** and I proved them wrong, but only till I got up to the speedlimit (theres lots of 45 and 50 mph areas around Reno). That was enough time for them to see me pulling on them then I shut it down, they learn their lesson, end of story. U have to carefully chose when u want to put yourself out like that, To put yourself in a sticky position is one thing, to put other innocent people in a sticky situation is another.

Street racing is stupid. I know too many people who have been directly or indirectly hurt, and not until recently, killed, because they were just driving too fast on the street. It's great to drive spiritidly around, I do it all the time, but I never try to race anyone, cause that's just asking for trouble.

And trying to race a camaro, I dont car what year or model, in a 1.6 liter automatic protege is just not smart..... In fact, I guess I really shouldnt be worried about you going too fast, huh?
