2002 Pro ES GT Smokes Caddy
 

Wile Driving around Saturday my buddy and I lined up with our other buddy in his Taurus (98 3.0 non DOHC), but he was asleep at the light and we hit the OD lockout, Torque-braked to 2grand (automatic) and took off. At the same Time this pimped out caddy (on chrome 18's, with back end lowered to the ground [but not the front?]) in the far lane to the far of us rockets off with us. He had traction problems I think because it was a early 90's FWD V8 caddy, but still got a good jump on us because of his low end torque. Once we got around 4 grand his bumper was soon the front door, and kept falling back. We soon had to brake for a van in front of us, and the caddy did a ricer fly by and tapped the brake lights and thought he won. :rolleyes:
Oh well was a good race even though the guy was an A$$.

On a side note the Taurus I was talking about gets smoked on a regular basis. :)

You have a 94 DX, thats why yours is not fast. Since when are caddies fast? Sure they have a V8, but alot of weight to go with it. I'm also talking about an old one, not the new TS ones (STS, DTS etc) Cause those are FAST for big cars.

Yeah. I agree. Those old V8 caddies are slow. Way too much weight being carried around. Plus the engines aren't really tuned for very much power.

Obviously you speak of the lame late 70's to early 90's Caddies, not the late 60's to early 70's models with 500 cubic inch V-8's (that's 8.2L, kids) that put down 400 lb-ft+ of torque to the ground :D These may not be the fastest American cars of the muscle era, but they're still faster than a Pro :)

BTW if you do not think any modern Caddies are fast, drive an STS sometime. They are 14 second cars. Myself and 3 college buddies went on an outing once in one guy's dad's STS and smoked a Dodge Stealth :D

Yes, an Early 90's Front Wheel Drive V8 Caddy, it was NOT a 70's caddy. I know Modern Caddies are fast, my boss has a 98 STS.
