14.602 on 1/4miles

went to the track for the first time today best run was 14,602 at 98.494 best speed was 99.300 with a 14.809, it really was worth it except that i had the biggest scare when i did my last run, an hydraulic lifter (not yet really shure it was really that) got stuck, so i lost a valve for the last run, the engine was making an horrible sound when i cross the finest line and the boost gauge was going crazy. It all stop on the way home, i'm going to check tomorrow what it really was. Learned a real good trick to, for launch on turbo engine rev the engine at the line but don't hold it in a certain rev as the boost goes down.

Heck, I've ditched work twice already just to go cruising...lol Speed is SOOOO addicting.

atila, did you check the compression on your cylinders?

atila August-6th-2003 12:09 PM

I'm pretty shure now that it was the hydraulic lifter cause the motor is all fine now. But i changed the oil and filter to be shure there was nothing in the oil that could have block an oil pass and the oil was really dirty so i figure it's really that that happen. I was suppose to go back last night at the track, but it was rainning there. I had to do all the distance to know if it was open or not cause where i live it was sunny but it's about 45 minutes away so temp can change.

aaah...well i was also going to suggest looking at your spark plugs too...

Well the car is again going to need repair. It's seems that i went to often to the track. I had a little accident putting third gear 3 weeks ago and since then the first gear would come out once in a will, but last night has it want out of first gear at 5600rpm with 10psi of boost the arm hit the synchro of the second gear and strip it so i no longer have second gear. Well it's only going to be the fourth time i get the tranny down, i just hope my boss is going to have the time to check it this weekend, i don't really like to open manual tranny and it's seems that there's always trouble with me car when i work on it. Damn i do nearly ten car in a week with no trouble but has soon has it's my protege it all goes wrong
