Winter sux for cars

An early snowfall in November prompted me to store my car prematurely...

These are my winter rides:

Yeah, I know, I'm a traitor for owning a Honda... but I like the Pro and the board better!!!

Anyone else in the great white North store their rides yet?

only ride I put away was my Kawi ZX-6 !

It's not easy keeping the shiny side up from Dec. to April...
Just hoping for a nice Chinook (warm west wind) so I can ride soon... except then ya gotta watch out for gravel and sand... worse than marbles!! D'oh!!

That's also when the salt and sand begins:crying: . What's the use of dumping 3G$ into bodywork and paint if you're not gonna take care of it and let it rot out? I dunno how much snow you get in Fargo (alot, right?) but we get too much here for me to risk it. Nah, I'll use the handbrake on the Honda and keep my paint looking new for a decade... or at least half of one... 'sides, she's just not the same without the kit and mags... and these next few months will give me plenty of time for headwork, turbo, interior mods, ............

Paul: very cool. I want a bike too, but I don't know if I'll be willing to dish out the 750$ for obligatory liscence and course fees they charge here in Qweebek

fargo doesn't use salt
You're lucky... I was pretty lucky myself when it comes to salt... The day after I put my car away, I got stuck behind a convoy of salt trucks on the highway in my Civic... It was all over the place. I was thanking God I was'nt in the Pro. But as you can see, they're not cheap on the salt round here. Oddly enough, it's still always icy as hell.

Since I am only a one car owner you guys have all inspired me to go wash my car right now, even though it is only 14 degrees. The highway department is always screwing me over. They ran into my 88 Nova when it was parked out in front of my house. I guess if it's not one thing its another.

had the pleasure of passing south of Buffalo, NY, and through Erie, PA, this past week... due to the snow the car got a lot fo spray on it... when I went out today and took a good look the car was white... so off to the manual car wash for a quick rinse... just enough to get the salt off of it :)

this pic shows the car (when it was just a few days old)... next to it is the one it replaced... that one is now the really bad winter day beater... I figure if some idiot wants to slam into the old one that is OK... but for day to day and trips it is the P5.
