Put my rims on tonight

I got my rims today, me likey! I think they look great, they'll look much better with the springs on. I NEED to replace the brake pads, these don't want to stop the heavier rim/tire combo very easily. I'm also going to have to replace a CV joint soon, it's clicking like crazy when I turn now. Here's the pics, sorry the night shots are so shitty, but it was dark by the time i got done.

Very nice looking, compared to the dirty disc and wheel well :P Make sure to give us the link when you get it lowered! How much did those run you in USD? thanks

The rims and tires were $986.xx shipped with free mounting, free balancing, lugs, and locking lugs. I got them from

www.whalentire.com

I will be putting my struts and springs on Sunday, the 16th. I will post pictures afterwards.

I looked at the wonderful pics again and realized the wheels have just 4 lugs, and my 3rd gen Protege has 5 lugs. Oh well, I couldn't see spending nearly $1,000 for wheels, especially if they are heavier. But if I did have the cash, I would get something very similar to what you chose.

Heavy? Those are some of the lightest wheels that Konig makes. Something like 17 lbs for the 17". They are available in 5 bolt as well but I'm not sure about the offsets. That is left as an exercise for the user [ http://www.wheelspecs.com/ ]

I just got the idea that they are heavy from that, not from any stats or experience. By the way, how much do stock 3rd gen alloys weigh? Any ideas?

Don't for get A). Tires weigh a lot and B). 13" steel wheels with tiny tires aren't exactly heavy.

I think the rims look good. Sounds like you got a good deal too. Good luck with the strut and spring install on the 16th.

Yes, the jspec front and rear bumper will be the next thing mod-wise along with paint (whole car). Right now I NEED to do brakes, probably CV joint soon, and alternator might be on it's last leg too :( That stuff is about the same $$$ as the front and rear jspec bumpers. Oh well, I need to be able to drive it, hehehe...
