Awesome Car!

Thats a clean looking car. I really like the front lip and P5 skirts. Nice rims too.

mtbfreak40 February-8th-2003 04:48 PM

where and how did you get a rear skirt? ive been lookin around for a while and everybody has been tellin me they are on backorder. any help would be great. oh and nice lookin car. i like the mp3 stuff and your car looks really clean. check out mine sometime in the link in my sig. they look somewhat similar.

celticbass February-8th-2003 04:51 PM

I've had the rear skirt and side sills since last july, i just didnt put them on till i got all of the kit

Identity_X February-8th-2003 04:54 PM

very very nice!!!!

post some more pics if you have them.:D

redrims February-8th-2003 05:24 PM

:bigthumb: Your car is awesome. You got that front lip from the Mazda dealer? How much was it?

celticbass February-8th-2003 05:27 PM

yeah, its the one in the 2003 accesories brochure- i hadnt seen anyone with it, so i got it oppsed to a mp3/p5 front end or anything else- plus it was only 225 bucks

ESsedan01 February-8th-2003 10:48 PM

celticbass, just wondering how you fasten the P5 side skirts to the rocker panels? I really want that front lip...but it's not even listed in Mazda Canada's parts database yet!! I even tried by giving a dealer the part number off that brochure.
I almost had my hands on side skirts already painted silver and then the guy turned around and sold them to someone else....oh well...easy come...easy go.
Anyway just wanted to say your car looks sweet!

Team Fuzion February-9th-2003 01:27 AM

nice not too much not too little just right 2

MarkSpark February-9th-2003 10:25 AM

Did you get your parts from Mazdastuff?

And Yes please post more pics!

celticbass February-9th-2003 11:18 AM

thanks for all the great responses guys ( and girl- foxy, when do we start are mr7 wheel club?;) )

markspark- you can get that lip from mazdastuff.com but its 251 bucks US- i pulled a few strings at my dealership and got it for 225 since they kinda owed me money.

Essedan- the side skirts have these little push-in plastic pin-thingys- you drill holes in the underside of your Pro( i know), rust-proof them, insert clips into side sills, insert into car. I want to think I was the guy w/ the side sills... i was gonna sell them but i found a front lip i liked so i put them on...sorry

yesterday was all rainy and nasty, so i didnt take many pics- since today is nice, i'll take more( including a burn out if i get some stuff together)

Witchdoktor February-9th-2003 11:35 AM

Looks Real Good

do you think removing the side molding would bring out the kit more?

mtbfreak40 February-9th-2003 04:21 PM

look at the link in my sig. my brother's silver ES has an MP3 kit, its the one that isn't lowered and doesn't have the lip. his is shaved, mine isnt' so you can compare the 2 looks there. later

celticbass February-9th-2003 07:42 PM

Hey celtic, what tint level do you have?

celticbass February-10th-2003 09:31 PM

the front windows are all the way to TX legal limit, and the back and rear are 1 shade darker than the front ( didnt want to look out of balance)

Hehe! Scroll up dude:D

sisbliss February-14th-2003 10:46 PM

I so jealous! This is exactly what I want to do with my car, and I have the same color too! :)

How much did it cost you to paint the parts and have them installed? Or did you do all that yourself?

5SpeedP5 February-15th-2003 12:10 AM

man that looks clean!

dont ruin it with a spoiler, that back deck looks great

celticbass February-15th-2003 11:55 AM

yeah definantly NO spoiler i aggree

i painted it all myself and installed it my self so i didnt pay much... since you have the same color car, i'll tell you the Duplicolor's import spray, color silver metalic i think is an almost perfect match- noone can really tell the difference

sisbliss February-15th-2003 07:13 PM

wow, you really did an excellent job!! Unfortunately, I don't think I'm THAT talented that I could do it myself :/

protegeownzj00 February-15th-2003 07:55 PM

hey man, did your LX come with a tach in the gauges?

why did you switch over to the ES cluster?

celticbass February-16th-2003 01:21 AM

i broke the needles putting in white glow gauges, and then took it :inthebum: and bought new gauges from the stealership... the es ones already had white backs, so i got them in stead of the lx ones- i already had a tach

sisbliss- it was really A LOT easier that i thought... painting it is really 90% prep work, and 10% painting. just take your time and do things right, and its a piece of cake. putting the parts on was just just follow simple instructions

pimp_runner_69 February-16th-2003 06:05 PM

This may already have been asked or may be a stupid question but since it is just a lip and the material may be semi-flexable is there any chance that it will be able to fit the 99-00 models. I am already in the works of making a custom front lip out of a stock front lip from a 92-95 civic but if this will fit I would rather use something that was better material.

Thanks, Nick

sisbliss February-17th-2003 01:03 AM

hmmmm....did the mazda parts actually come with instructions?

I was thinking the same thing. From the looks of it, I'm 99.9% sure it will. The 99-00 and 01+ are the same width, so you might not need to do a lot of bending.

BTW, the only stupid questions are the questions not asked.:p

celticbass February-17th-2003 11:43 AM

everything came w/ instrutions yes...
and the front lip is VERY flexible, it could very easyly be modded to fit ...

sisbliss February-17th-2003 09:50 PM

Last question I promise...:D

How much drilling is involved putting the parts on? And if you can put together a quick list of equipment and stuff I would need, that would be great...and thanks very much for the encouragement! :)

celticbass February-17th-2003 10:46 PM

i got creaativre and managed to keep all of the drilling on the underside of the car so none of it would be seen if i took it off one day... if you go by the instructions... 10 1/4 " holes in each side, 3 holes on the back of the back bumper, 12 holes in the front. its not hard to do it all w/o the visible drill holes though.... for stuff you need- a drill, philips bit( or screwdriver), 1/4 drill bit and about 3 hours and imagination!
