Nice pics, man. I like the mesh grilles, you did a good job. I have a question though. How difficult was it to remove the side moldings, and did the spoiler come with the car, or did you get it? If you bought it, where from? Thanks.

Thanks,the side mouldings come off with a piece of fishing line slid in behind them and cut like a saw. Clean with adhesive label remover to get the residue left behind. And the wing is a stock 99 (3rd gen)lx wing.

hey kansei, exactly what kind of remover did you use, cause i bought some goop off and its kinda not coming off. also, how long did it take to remove all of the stuff. thanks

the stuff i used was called OTO ,its an adhesive label remover for removing the tape left behind on cars . It can be bought at any bodyshop supply store. I think OTO, M400 and ALR are some of the names the chemical goes by. I'll check the actual brand name i used when I go to work monday. Oh and it took about 15 minutes to remove the mouldings and clean the tape off . You will have to wax after as it will strip the wax also. Good Luck.

yea, i'm trying to take the tape off but it is a pain. it just doesn't want to come off. i'll look into getting that OTO stuff. but wow, its pretty difficult. also, what should i actually use to take the tape out(like a rag, sponge, etc.) cause right now i'm using my finger and a plastic knife but i'm hesitant because it might scratch the paint. thanks

hey i'm about to install a mesh grill in my 2nd gen and i was wondering how you put in the lower grill, i haven't figured out yet how i'm going to do that.

I noticed that in the engine bay you have a separator for the air intake and have insulated the hood except for one section.

Do you have a scoop? and how did you make that box/divider for the intake?

Well first the lower grille was done by cutting the "teeth" from the bumper and then I made the lower mesh to fit the opening and with the bumper off I secured the mesh with stainless steel bolts and washers from the inside. Second the insulator in my engine bay is insulation from the under side of my snowmobile hood. It is cut to seal the corner of the engine compartment with the hood closed. This was done to have a larger area of cooler air around the filter as a reserve . This way on acceleration the warmer air will not get to the filter . I drive it year round so a true cold air set up would not be practical. Hope this helps you guys.
