Pics of Custom Aluminum Wind Splitter

Here are just a couple of pics of my new custom aluminum wind splitter. It is made of 1/8" thick aluminum plate and installs without any mods to your car. I used all the existing screws holes that hold up the plastics guards underneath the front end. I just replaced the OEM screws with all stainless steel screws and added a 1/2" in length to all the screws. I'm going to try and make a second one with little wings on the sides to camouflage the slope of the wind splitter. It slopes a little from the front to back as does the bottom of the front bumper. The front lip of the wind splitter is covered with a black rubber edge molding material that I think really sets it off. Please tell me what you guys think.

Props to you for making one yourself, but it sticks out too far. If it was back like an inch it'd be cool. Whatever. It's your car.

Was just thinking if you don't like the slope of the splitter why not use spacers made out of either aluminum or black plastic thick wall tubing on the front screws which would mean you'd need longer screws in front than in back.

Just an idea....

Wow...the splitter is nice IMO. But, I WANT those wheels. Does anybody know if they're available in a four-lug setup? Thanks

One thing to keep in mind is what happens when you have dissimilar metals in contact with one and other (ie. how you alloy wheels like to stick to the steel hub). The stainless screws are a good idea, but if you can find a way (plastic collar?) to isolate them from the aluminum you'll be better off in the long run.

Not that this will be an issue in the short term, I'm just thinking about what happens if you get road salt in contact with the areas in the winter. I need to think about it a little more, but I think that the loosing metal in that case would be the aluminum and it would pit rather easily.

As I said... nothing to be concerned about in the short term... looks good!
