My New AEM Intake
 

Just installed my intake. Had it installed in less then an hour. Looks pretty good to me and boy can I feel a difference.

Looking good, man. I never picked one up for three reasons: I don't have the money. I don't think I'd be able to install it. And finally, I wonder how much of a difference it would make.

That looks nothing like my AEM, the filter goes down halfway past the radiator fan. It was supper easy to install, first mod ever attempeted, the directions were great and sounds awsome. I love it when some punkass kids are hanging around and they hear the air swooshing out and they turn their heads and look and think it's a turbo, someday it will, but it's only an AEM.

Yeah I have seen AEM intakes that go down. And I have seen others like this. I think it is the installer preference or even additional tubing to make it go down. Cause with the tubing I got there is no way it would go down near the radiator

Thats cause you got the intake for the automatic Proteges. The one that goes deeper down only fits on Proteges with manual transmission.

SWEET, just installed mine on the weekend as well. Identical, I bought it off a former p5 owner on the board here... and as well he had an AT and I have an MT, but it works just fine for me... and it sounds verrrry nice!!

I actually think the AT AEM is possibly better on the MT... a lot more room around it, not to mention opening it up under the hood sooooo much. Finally got rid of that sh#t stock airbox....

Yeah that is how I felt. Was nice to get rid of that plastic airbox. And the sound that I get now is a lot deeper.

Or in the case that the transmition isn't the difference there is two types of AEM intakes

It is a short ram intake, or cold air. Cold air is the longer intake that takes air from the lower front grill. The short ram stops up top. The cold air can suck in water so you wanna get a bypass valve but then you lose hp so it turns out to be the same as the short ram. Personal preferance

I thought AEM only makes a short ram air intake for the proteges, That's what I ordered, they do make CAI, but not for the Pros. Check out their website.
