I bought my exaust from the mazda dealership. The total cost was about $250.There is a site though called www.mazdastuff.com , I believe sells the exaust for $195. This exaust comes in a few diffrent versions for the different model of protege, so they do make a specific one for the sedan which would fit your ES. Yes the installation is very easy, I read one guy installed it with out even jacking up his car. Your best source for info on this exaust is to go to "search" and enter in "exaust" trust me you will find all you need to know. Hope this helps... thanx... peace...

Here are the part numbers for the different exhausts:

-Muffler Mazdaspeed for the Sedan 0000-8M-C09
-Muffler Mazdaspeed for the P5 0000-8M-C10

looks good...hows the sound on your exhaust?

The sound of this exaust is awesome. It has a very deep and acoustic sound ;) . At idle it is just a slight "hum" but almost silent, but around 3000-3500rpm it sounds GREAT!! It definetly turns some heads hehehe...

Go to This Link and Scroll Down to "MAXX MAZDA'S" Post and He has 3 sound clips of the same exaust.....

these are from my MS exhaust, installed on my '00 1.8L ES:

laptop right behind the exhaust tip as I started it up.

getting in the car and turning on the engine, and backing out.

taking off from a green light. You can hear the constant 'drone' toward the end of the recording.
