a little project i am working on
here are some pics from my ICE set up i am working on currently... its basically a DVD system for now..
this is when the screen is angled towards driver pic1 when its straight back pic2 when its all turned off pic3 the headunit i currently have has no DVD capabilities nor MP3.. but the DVD headunit i got (for 50USD) has all that... and it mounted in the glove box for now.. has an external IR sensor for the remote too... and the sounds gets playes though my main headunit because it has an AUX in just though i share the pics while i complete the whole project P.S the screen quality looks crap in photos but in real life it looks much much better |
looks real good man. How much did it cost you for that screen?
|
the Screen cost me $130 (australia dollars so like 70ish USD) off ebay... paid for it on a friday got the TV on tuesday... very impressed hehe
so far no problems with it @ all... had it outside in the summer heat came back turned it on and its still fine.... |
awesome...you need to get me a deal like that!
|
this is from an Australian eBay store hehe... i am sho u guys over in the states can find the same thing for a better price
|
i've been looking and not seen deals like that.
|
a break down of the costs...
1. Head unit: Kenwood KDC 8023 (a top of the range head unit last season) $500AUD.. so around $ 300 i think USD... 2. DVD player: Viscom something (a cheap DVD plyaer i bought off a friend) $100AUS so around 70ish USD 3. Screen.. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 $122.5 AUD.. so like 100ish USD... and installations i did it all myself so cost me only $5ish.. crimps, wires and hubs.. (i replaced alotta my headunit wiring which was taped with hubs and shrink wrap hehe and put clips on the ends of wiring where connect to grounds and batteries) |
hmm, everything else but the headunit seems real good. I just don't want to spend that kind of money for tunes. I think I could get a cheaper one if I shopped around.
|
yeh.. my main headunit i bought ages ago to replace the stock headunit.... the 5V RMS output on the RCAs and the countless other higher end featurers is the reason i bought that....
but if u can find a cheap DVD headunit u can easily do it... oz-auctions has cheap DVD headunits too... but the output specs wasn;t up2 my standards hehe... |
