Latest photos of motor swap so far

If you are on 56k , know that this may take a while .. pics re 800x600 ...

anyway I never really got to take photo's of how far I reached in the swap , but I figured I would take a few shots and give the link to you guys , I did manage to get the car started today after a bit of starter effort.
the 1.5 harness had to be custom wired up for the 1.8 enigine and maf ..

I did get it to start but did not run it more than a second due to I need to change the downpipe, 1.5 and 1.8 use different down pipes .. and I also need to clean up the emissions wires ..

Thanks for looking . I am going to bed

Just curious, how are you making your splices? Crimp connectors or what? If you are using crimp connectors, let me suggest that you use solder and heat shrink. It's a pretty hostile environment under the hood.

My $0.02.

I have only had to splice 3 wires that are next to the motor. and they were spliced and then put back into the factory harness wireing and then wraped up with electrical tape , I will do like you suggest and go back in there and solder and heat shrink them , but I need to get the car fully running and then check for any error codes that the ecu may spit out ..

Next thing I need to change the flex joint , which looks like it wants to be a pain in the ass for the bolts to come off...
any suggestions?

I tried to get it off before and the damn bolts started to twist .. I could cut off the bolts as the donor flex pipe from the sephia came with all the bolts

A yo Bruce how much longer do you have to go on the swap ?

Can't wait to see it in action :D

Well I just have to connect another flex pipe. then flush the engine , make sure all the emission plugs are in the correct places. check the o2 sensor, and so forth, not to mention 2 new axles.

Is it finished yet? :D

Bruce95fmla August-15th-2003 11:48 AM

I have hardley had a chance to get anything done . Last I worked on the car I was filling it with antifreeze and working on connecting the downpipe. But with the power outage, work and what not I have had no chance to work on the car. I will be this week though .
Tomorrow I am supposed to be going to Jersey to help adam pull his BP and pull his GTX clip ..
