i think its safe to take off that rubber jacket so you don't have a gap in between the red looms. ive done it on mine and i haven't had any problems

Looks ok, you need to get some powder coating done under the hood

R2Di2Dc2Do July-7th-2003 03:18 PM

Yea you should definitly see into powder coating. I wonder how would look if ya got the valve cover powder coated red. Are you going for complete red look under the hood?

Also, i agree on the little gap b/t the covers. Its gotta go. but other wise it all looks good. keep up the good work.

JasonKilpa July-7th-2003 03:24 PM

Thanks for the comments and I will work on those gaps. As for powder coating I think that would be good too. But I am going to buy the DGM motorsports carbon fiber valve cover and put on there. I think that would look good on there and have the mazda logo done in red to keep with the theme on the valve cover.

looks good man, real clean engine bay. keep up the good work.

Looks good ... but in all honesty ... if you have the $ Id go with Hose Techniqes silicone hoses to replace the hoses you have. And then just ditch the loom. It gives it a more classy look. If your doing the CF engine cover dont bother with powder coating.

This is what my engine bay looks like ....

Maybe you wouldn't have such a pitted valve cover if you took that wrench out from under the hood! LOL! :p

looks good bro. like pr5owner mentioned, take off the rubber from the left pipe on the right side or cover it.

lol good point. but the engine bay makes a good tool holder, when your doing work on it.

Maxx... you still have the silicone hoses tho -- and thats the desired look ... imho the loom gives it a "cheaper" look. I myself had them at one point but it was made apparent at several shows that silicone replacement was the prefered method. Your P/C looks good like that but would be a waste of $$ for him if he is using the engine cover.

I've got nothing but compliments on the hoses and the loom. Actually, 2 judges at the last show I was at commented on how nice and clean the engine bay looked.

My P/C?
