Well, I got the DGM front lip for my xmas gift to myself.
I brought it in to work today, since I have to rotate my tires and all that good stuff.

Ignore the ill fitment, I have not put on the double sided tape or the 2 screws that came w/it yet. :)

Jackelope January-5th-2006 10:19 AM

^ look'n good :)

mazpro2 January-5th-2006 11:14 AM

Flat black for now....but I plan on doing this:

ghettopro January-5th-2006 04:01 PM

your gonna paint the sides and leave the center black?
that would have a nice look to it, could possibly make it "look" like a whole new front bumper.

looks real good tho, i like!

JDM-P5 January-5th-2006 04:06 PM

Yessir. That's the idea.

ghettopro January-5th-2006 06:09 PM

I wonder what painting the center of the stock bumper on a protege would look like if only the middle "grill" part of the bumper were painted...

cant wait to see how it turns out, I WANT PICS!!, lol...no rush or anything but..HURRY UP!

ghettopro January-5th-2006 06:14 PM

Quick question.

Are you just wanting it to be painted?

or are you going for the "make it blend in" body kit look?

just ccurious b/c it looks like some of those edges would be difficult to get perfect.

KrayzieFox January-5th-2006 07:23 PM

I miss my lip ... I had that same one but I nailed a curb :tear:

Anarchistchiken January-5th-2006 07:25 PM

Looks good man, but, get it painted before I get back or I'll have to slap you. I'm not a big fan of the unpainted body kit look.

JDM-P5 January-5th-2006 08:44 PM

LOL.
GhettoPro - Painted for sure...molded would be a bonus. But, I'd have some other things to do like shave the rear door handles, the roof antenna and get the holes filled on the trunk (I can get the FAMILIA badge and double side tape it)...if I wanted to.
KrayzieFox - I'm being extremely careful.
Miller - Painting it cost dollars....I could do it myself*.

*Hmmmmmmm........Spring time poor-ject.

ghettopro January-5th-2006 08:58 PM

Those bumpers can be pretty hard to keep in one piece..

I got a buddy who has a 96 Honda Accord on some black 17's with chrome lips

Full body kit..well..used to be....He put an air-rod system on his car, he crucnhes side skirt literly when he drops it he can be driving down the road and slam it and you see sparks fly from the extra metal on his dual exhuast...

his front bumper is a little scard...but his rear bumper and I quote what he said "its in about 23 pieces"

so...yeah..you SHOULD be fine unless you do an air bag system...

Rattltrunk January-6th-2006 05:35 AM

I love that front Lip....Hott

JDM-P5 January-6th-2006 09:11 AM

It looks really nice now that I have it properly attached. I drove my buddy to Best Buy last night and some guy was walking in w/his gf and they were both rubbernecking pretty hard.

chiefmg January-6th-2006 10:03 AM

I think you might end up with problems if you tried to blend it in with the front bumper, mainly if you hit something. The way DGM molds it the lip blends pretty well with the existing front bumper. The real test will be when I put mine on my sedan, since they only make them specifically for the P5 I will have to get creative.

Damn dude it does look like a panda, haha.
Yezzir!

I was thinking of getting some white paint and some masking tape and doing some painting today.

But, it's 36* outside.....so NO FUUGIN' WAY!

ghettopro January-7th-2006 11:54 AM

Yeah, Cold weather tends to suck when working on a car..

ghettopro January-7th-2006 12:28 PM

Its really to bad you cant get a custom "Protege5" Logo and have a ProtegePanda log, like have the word Protege and a design of a panda beside it...that would be cool.
