Okay, I'm at it again. Couple of rims I think might look good on the Speed, can anyone put these puppies up for me? Thank you.

You dirty boy! Thanks.

i have no clue what your price range is, but have you looked into SSR or Gram Lights--particularily the five or six spoke ones that curl back inwards toward the lip of the rim? or are you thinking more polished? your color is a bit tricky to satisfy with good rims, but i think the right ones it will wear really well. you looking at 18s?

someone's been on your roof, might want to get that looked @

I'm looking for 18s. I like Gram Lights but they are out of my price range right now. I just found out today the MRR GT-2 (first picture) were discountinued in February. The site I found them on had them listed at $120 per, when I called them the guy said no, we don't have them in stock, they would have to be ordered. Talk about updating your site!

I found another Team Dynamics wheel I like (called Popstar), but I'm having a hard time finding anyone in the States that has it available. Too bad I didn't find them sooner, I could have bought a set when I was in London last month!

Barry, was that directed at me? I thought maybe you put a little surprise in but don't see anything.

I'm pretty much sold on the Advan AVS Model 5 right now. Only thing is, they are over $500 per!! My gf thinks I'm crazy for even thinking about it. I know, you can get Exel Ennios much cheaper, but I have read some bad things about their quality. All the other knockoffs I have found have been discontinued (story of my life). So I guess I start saving pennies now...

Exel ennios aren't the knockoffs of the Advan Kreuzer V (i.e. the AVS Model 5).. the Exel 'speed' is.

They aren't your average knockoffs, that much I'll say

I dare you to find a difference between my wheels and the real thing. They are visually identical. They have held up incredibly well to the abuse of Rochester slum city streets with 205/40 tires on them for years.. plus, with a 20 pound tire on them (215/40-17 ecsta mx .. it's my spare tire/wheel) the total weight is just 34.3 pounds! with a 17x7 wheel! I was absolutely stunned when I saw the number. I'm getting new tires in the spring so I'll get truer, 'pure' weights of all my wheels without tires on them this winter.

$475 shipped for 4.. I bought the last one at a later date (I got a blowout on the highway and it scuffed one of the wheels a little bit.. the day after I had the tires mounted when the wheels were brand new).

I can't say anything bad about the wheels at all. I think they look great on sooo many cars too.

here's pics of the advans to compare against my wheels:

and here's the Exels (which actually do have 'Kreuzer V' cast into them.. and yes, the Advans are cast with a very special material/process to make them very light and very strong):
click for full size when available.. so that you have some way high res to compare them to the advans

The rims on this Speed are the ones I am talking about.

_Kansei_ September-15th-2007 09:16 AM

oh rats. all that work for nothing.. yeah those are the Exel Ennios :P

The quality I've experienced with exels doesn't necessarily transfer to those.. with the amount of wheels they make, I wouldn't be surprised if they're cast by numerous companies and Exel is just kinda the retailer for them.
