so I think in US terms that would be like 14lbs....very nice job! I'm impressed....Too bad your in Taiwan...I'd love to have a go against it in my MX-6...I'd probably get beat, but I'd love to try. Do you have the G-series tranny on that?

that front bumper is AMAZING!! That is the very next thing on my list!! I'm assuming it will just swap out with the P5 bumper?? anyone know for sure? The lights look a little different.

turbonium959 April-1st-2004 01:33 PM

The headlights are from 99-00 US models.

macdaddyslomo April-1st-2004 01:34 PM

Yes that is the 99-00 Sport 20 bumper. It is available from corksport. Notice he's a 3rd gen but the post says 1.8L..it's a dead give away...hehe

Roddimus Prime April-1st-2004 01:40 PM

true, I didn't put that much thought into it...I was sucked in and glued to the bumper!! I wonder how it would look on an otherwise stock P5. Would the lines match up??

macdaddyslomo April-1st-2004 01:49 PM

for it to fit properly you would need hood, fenders, headlights, and corner lights from a 99-00 Protege. Your Fogs would fit. It would look bad ass but a pretty expensive bumper swap. If anyone actually did it it would be VERY unique. However if you know someone that does body work it may possibly be made to fit with some fabrication of fiberglass instead of buying all those parts

I looked into it and the cost is not worth it....you have to buy the grill also, just the panels would cost almost $1K + shipping.....I have better ways I could spend $1K!!

damn makes me happy to own a 99 mazda 323 1.8 sport. seeign a turbo converstion has made me wet my pants. i want that bumper too all i would have to do is rip the old one off for the new one! haha, damn all i need is about 2 grand in english pounds!

thats pretty high boost. whats that in psi? over 12 surely? he must not be using standard internals.

VagaBond-X April-26th-2004 02:43 PM

damn thats just awesome.... i just love seeign what the 1.8 can do

hmmm granted that he has probbaly gone forged internals and all.....

but i was wondering, is the 1.8L overseas basically the same as the 1.8L here.... are they the same FP-DE, i think they are.... just probably less emissions right....

hmmmm time to start savign up for a turbo kit :p

323sportUK 0.98 bar of boost will be equal to about 14.4 PSI of boost

AzianDragonz April-26th-2004 08:52 PM

Where in Taiwan are you at?

323sportUK May-3rd-2004 01:59 PM

yeh i got the FPDE engine here, I dyno'd mine and i got 127BHP running on optimax, thats totally stock.

we get done up the ass if our emissions are too high here as well, and where i live the cops are even doing spot checks on the side of the road!

oh and i found out the turbo running on this motor here is a mad hybrid unit....
