Is 12.79 really the record for a Protege?

millionflame March-17th-2003 11:16 PM

No one in a Protege has gone faster than 12 seconds?

Geez. Come on people. You can get the BPT right? What's wrong?! :D

where did you get 12.79 from?

the guys fastest was 13.78

as for the engine, the owner says its a 2.5 200hp KL-ZE J-spec motor

if you ask me, that engine looks identical to my moms 626mazda 2.5L V6 which is only 165hp,

itzkcatz March-18th-2003 12:40 AM

Where di u get 12.79? ive heard rumors of one hitting 11.02 but the kid never backed it up. i think his name was team fuzion or something. ..Jon

im not shure but im guessing if its the 2.5l at 165 hp, its the same as the mx-6 engine.... just a guess.... and theres is at 165 hp.. thats how i was thinking

as for the Jap-spec engine... it does run 200 HP, it is more than proven because of the standards in japan and in America... WE GET THE SHAFT ON ALL IMPORTS....
i deleated the site i had with all the info on the KL-ZE engine, but here is a site that actually does the swap, there prices, info, and just a little bit of eye candy.... so check it....

home i didnt cause to much controversy with my limited amount of engine know how,,, hope it is what your looking for... atleast the link makes up for it

High Body March-18th-2003 02:41 AM

DAMN IT FORGOT THE SITE

Yes, it's the KL-ZE v6, Japanese spec version of the KL-03, which you find in the MX-6/626/Probe, etc.

That's a nice car, but, in my opinion the owner of that car is a worthless piece of shit.

lukasz70 March-18th-2003 09:45 AM

Thanks HIGH BODY

had that site before, but lost it

good thing i live in ontario to :D

now if i can only blow my engine, i'll know what to replace it with:)

oh yeah like chasten said

I think 3rd gens are limited to the FS-ZE or force induction. That is of course with reasonable cost. With money, anything can be done.
