Why not get P5 wheels?

If I can't source these I might go with P5 rims (again). I don't want to look totally stock, though.

Nah, more like time for less rubbing, less cleaning, less tuner.

BTW, how are wheels related to emissions testing? Anything more than a tipoff to nosy techs that mods may lurk underhood?

^ I dunno man .. it was just a wild guess. I've never had to do emissions .. EVER :D I just thought that maybe they're pretty Nazi in some states about your car being modified at all, so you couldn't even have aftermarket rims.

i'd be willing to part with my stockers - however, the tires need to be replaced, and the finish on them isn't the BEST it could be... they're the one's on the car in my sig

no problem - i'm not in a hurry to get rid of them, because if i don't they're going to be my winter rims
