No, it won't bolt up. You need a T2 flange turbo

(i.e. a T2/T3 hybrid would work if the T3 is the compressor side of things)

It will bolt up to the OBX turbo manifold, but you'll need a custom downpipe and of course all the intercooler piping would need to be custom. Plus, the OBX turbo manifold is really weak, enough that you absolutely MUST brace the turbo to the engine in some way (you'd have to have something custom fabbed) or it'll break.

With the custom work that would be needed, it stops it from being a quick 1-2 week project.

It's just not a trustworthy turbo.. if you want cheap at least get an IHI, or a used garrett.

I got my turbo with < 15k miles on it for $225, and it's a turbo that costs a thousand dollars or so new.

The T3/T4 isn't a dual ball bearing turbo, so it's harder to spool. For a little engine like our car, especially in a situation where you aren't worried about peak horsepower but rather usable torque, get a turbo that spools quickly. The GT25R (stock MSP turbo) is surprisingly well paired to our engine

http://mazdamotorsports.com/pages/qu.../turbokit.html

they sell the kit new (just the manifold, turbo, downpipe, radiator hoses, water return elbow, gaskets, nuts and bolts)

everything but the intercooler and plumbing for it, oil cooler, and a few other key pieces.

but what's really great is the install PDF. I didn't know that existed when I installed my stuff, but it's a nice reference to see how stuff is done OEM. Those instructions are actually the ones they used to install the turbo kits on MSPs. The MSP came to this continent sans turbo and body kit. It had the oil cooler and intercooler installed, but the stock sedan/P5/MP3 exhaust manifold, and the stock water return elbow and such (it was shipped here in a driveable, nonturbo state

I still think it's disturbing to see the spicy car they picture in the instructions and then see the lack of turbo :P

The one I've seen (in photos.. it's in AZ) looked GROSS.

I think 99% of why it looked gross was that chrome + spicy orange = VOM VOM VOM

it has the stock 03 wheels (polished) and stock chrome headlamps. Orange is an aggressive color, chrome just.. sucks :P needs something darker, i.e. 03 or definitely 03.5 MSP wheels
