well i'm guessing you guys are in the states so shipping will be alot, maybe like 40-50 bucks?

pro-esgt-01 November-2nd-2004 03:37 PM

shipping cant be alot for such a small item !!!

...and i say your offer is way too high!! Sparco knob goes for that price!!

I'm in the Detroit area, which means that Ontario is just a stone's throw away. It's about ten bucks going standard UPS ground from here, from the estimate I ran on their website.

Why not just order a Mazdaspeed knob through your local dealer? Sure, it costs more, but it's cooler. And, my dealership said that they can still get the discontinued Sparco logo knob, if you don't want the direct screw-on "speed" knob. BTW, both are made by Sparco.

The p5 knob is made by sparco?!?!

hey juddz, i know the mazdaspeed one is cool but i have one like that already. I prefer the regular looking leather shift knob the p5 had. how much would you want for yours?

Roddimus Prime November-2nd-2004 07:41 PM

if you have the 03 MSP Sparco knob already I'll do a straight up trade for it. My leather P5 knob for yours sparco 03 knob. We'll each pay our own shipping. Let me know.

i don't have the mazdaspeed knob, i have one similar to it(home made)

juddz November-2nd-2004 09:36 PM

No, the leather knob is not made by Sparco. What I meant is, there are two distinct Mazdaspeed Protege shift knobs. Early 03 cars had a Sparco knob with the Sparco logo on top. The 03.5 cars had a knob that said Mazdaspeed on the top of it, but it too was made by Sparco. Sorry for the confusion. Further, both types of Mazdaspeed knobs are still available from the dealer body. But, the first type is discontinued, so once their inventory is gone, that's all she wrote. I bought the latter type, which is still available, because I prefered the way it looks.

Definitely among Sparco's better efforts, wouldn't you say?

mazdaspeed (sparco) knob does not fit a 2003 protege. i purchased a used protege that was missing a shift knob. i bought one from the mazda dealer because they said it was an exact fit + it was the same price as the OEM knob. i took it to my car and it was too tall for the stock shifter. the treads were further into the knob.
