it is 6 months old in very good condition w/3'' stainless tip.

what is the difference in cat-back and axel back? I know performance, but how much? how much of the stock piping does it replace?

Axel-back goes from (where) the rear axel (should be) to the end of the rear bumper. About two feet of piping + the muffler.

Cat-back goes from the catalytic converter to the rear bumper.
