Great product! Good luck on the sale, although it might be a little tough with a starting bid at $400.00 .. people get discouraged quick when they see that.

Thanks!

Yeah, this is the first time I've ever sold anything on eBay, so it wouldn't let me set a Reserve or a Buy-It-Now price. I'd like to sell them for $400 which is 60% less than I paid new.

Normally 50% off the original cost is a pretty good deal isn't it?

KrayzieFox November-27th-2006 03:38 PM

Yea the price is fair, it's just that most eBay shoppers tend to turn away from such a high starting bid. I was selling my OEM roof rack a while back and priced it at $80 starting bid since that's what I wanted out of them. No one even touched them ... people watched and questioned shipping but no one made a bid. Then I put them down to $29.95 with a reserve of $80 and they sold for $91 .. it's weird how people are willing to pay more when there is a couple bidders interested

that's an awesome deal..

anyone from here that's interested should eat them up...they are AWESOME struts

Thanks for the support and good eBay advice.

But as a brand new eBay user, they don't allow you set anything but a Starting Bid price. I think it's because people were setting the Starting Bid Price really low and the Reserve really high so that eBay couldn't charge them as much.

Someone told me that after you've sold 10 items, then the "Reserve Price" function automatically gets activated. 10 ITEMS! I doubt I'll ever sell that many in a lifetime! ;)

ANOTHER DATA POINT
I only autocrossed the Protege 3 times. But here's how I did the last time I ran it:

http://www.autosportsnorthwest.org/2...0pax_times.txt

I was pretty proud of that! 2nd over-all in Protege DX....serious underdog car! I think I could have done better. I kept getting lost on the last section. I think I only had one clean run.

Only modifications were:

Car: 2003 Mazda Protege DX (doesn't even have a Tach!)
Suspension: Mazdaspeed shocks (full soft front / full stiff rear)
Alignment: -0.9 camber all four corners / .125 toe out front and rear (1/8")
Tires: 205/50/15 Kumho V710 tires
Brake Pads: Porterfield RS-4
Engine: K&N air filter (stock air box)
Muffler: Stock
Sway Bar: Front sway bar dissconnected on one side

looks like it was dialed in nicely !

mitchman November-29th-2006 12:18 PM

Actually I kind of wish I hadn't sold the Protege. I was fun being the underdog. Now with our new Mini Cooper S, everyone expects us to win. :(
