no low balls becuase you WILL NOT FIND THIS ANYWHERE ELSE

akaveli August-1st-2004 06:10 PM

still 2 much

the X August-1st-2004 06:22 PM

You get what you pay for. I'm tired of people low-ballin for parts you cant find anywhere else.

The engine intake sells for $250 on ebay. Either you pay for what these parts are worth (which is alot more than the starting bid) or your car is rolling around stock or with cheapo parts.

you have to pay to play, modding cars cost $.... if you can buy i suggest you get a toy car and modify that;)

the X, I'll race you anyday of the week with your CF intake vs my $38 Ebay SRI.

The picture shown in the Ebay auction wont even fit a 3rd gen pro. Doesn't have the right bends.

While I'm not one for vendor bashing I don't see you on our authorized vendor list so peddling your overpriced product isn't going to take any favor with me.
p.s. Just because there is not another one like your intake doesn't make it worth ANYTHING. It needs to perform better and have actual gains shown. Provide us with a B&A dyno where the only change was your intake vs stock and you might sell one. Just coming on here and telling people you get what you pay for is crap.

the X August-1st-2004 09:48 PM

well you will have to race with that alumminum recycle pop can intake u got off ebay because you sure won't have ours. our parts are not overpriced. check injens for the same aluminum one.

if you pay for the dyno we can. anyone who knows anything knows that cf has less heat transfer than alumminum.

and it is off a 01 protege just because it is assembled a different way does't mean it's the same one.

''just because it's the only one does't mean it's worth anything''> it's called rare and it does make the value go up.

nvm you just by cheap parts off ebay.

people like YOU are the reason vendors choose to make new products for other cars. lowballing and not respectful of new products.

ZOOM_X_TWO August-2nd-2004 12:57 AM

IMO...With a filter and some hardware, and a lot less profit margin in it for you (i.e. half that price) you may sell a few of these.

In terms of heat transfer...the carbon isnt going to make any difference to lets say a silicone tube with almost NO heat transfer, like the nice little stock setup or even an after market silicone SRI.

Other than a little less air flow resistance, the carbon is all for looks. And believe me, I love the way carbon looks and that is the ONLY reason I would buy this...but NEVER for that price.

Thats my .02 cents.

Thanks for listening/reading, Brad.

the X August-2nd-2004 01:09 AM

oem airbox, lol are you serious in saying that it is better than a cf one interms of heat transfer  your wrong

HALF THAT PRICE hahaha... i just won't sell to protege guys, i'm a mazda guy but i guess you guys are getting cheap too

i mean you can't please everyone but you guys are just unreasonable

ever heard the saying don't bite the hand that feeds you??? :nono:

ohwell THIS possible new vender has left and will not be producing anymore cf parts for protege's...you have yourselfs to thank..

and zoom x> nvm about that cf e-brake handle (did't think you were serious anyway

akaveli August-2nd-2004 12:08 PM

the X your product doesn't even look like its worth $250. On top of that we already have a Carbon Fiber CAI for our model cars anyway. For 250 you are wasting your time even posting to us.

Roddimus Prime August-2nd-2004 01:04 PM

Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Racing Beat August-2nd-2004 02:36 PM

man, with an attitude like that dont even bother selling stuff for Protege's...your an ass

Roddimus Prime August-2nd-2004 02:37 PM

I'd rather have a "tin can" ebay intake sold to me by a nice guy than a cf intake sold by a butt-pirate.

Racing Beat August-2nd-2004 03:03 PM

:fight:
edited to protect others feelings, my sensitivity classes are paying off, and you better not f'ing disagree....thank you :bonk:

Roddimus Prime August-2nd-2004 03:32 PM

no need to treat him like he treats us RB. Some people are just overly sensative when it comes to being critiqued. If I (as a vendor) got that bent out of shape everytime someone said I was overpriced I wouldn't have anyone else to sell to. People would run from me....pretty much like what is happening here.

p.s. Just to clarify to "the X". The "tin can" intake I got off ebay is made from the exact same stainless steel as an Injen, AEM or K&N Typhoon. Also, no'one gives a crap if your cf intake is .03lbs lighter than an aftermarket intake. I've taken a dump and lost 10lbs. Whatever very miniscule weight savings there would be do not justify your price tag. Sorry but you're just pricing yourself out of market with these guys. I almost did the same thing with my supercharger. Instead of getting all pissed because no'one wanted to pay that much I switched manufacturers and found a ay to provide a quality product at a REASONABLE price. It's how a good vendor SHOULD get (and keep) business.
