For AM
It has slightly difference
Maybe reduce 30% of reception

but for FM
90% no problem

it wont fit to your protege 5, becoz it has to be modifiy on the thread base

is it an amplified or not!!!!

i just got this thing in the mail on thursday. from what i can tell, it holds up pretty well for being as small as it is. for sure it is not amplified. i got a dead spot over the hill, but it picked up quickly after that certain spot in the road. otherwise, i would say i am still getting about 90% of my reception. i don't listen to AM, so i can't tell you how it does on that front.

oh, this thing is tiny. it's about 2.5 inches tall. it's shiny black, so it doesn't quite match the car, but it sure does look good. very sleek. i'm glad i got this over the 4.5 and 6" ones.
