WTF? "Shift Knobs"

I guess you just have to see it to understand...

Who came up with this idea?? I'd really like to know so I can go beat them with one of those shift knobs...:spank:

Is that a joke??? :thumbs do :dunno: :cookoo: :gay: :barf:

A lot of smilies, I know, but they ALLLLL describe how I'm feeling right now.

Yuck.

:wtf:
Those are even more hilarious than those wavy, squarish aftermarket steering wheels.

:mach: Anyone who's
:mach: ever bought one.

Awww - c'mon dude.

I mean, if we were all owners of real off-roaders, or rock-crawlers, we'd be loving those things. I think it's a sweet idea for an off-road vehicle (a REAL off roader - not your soccer-mom's Navigator ;)).

Of course, you could just make one yourself - rocks are free. But I think it's kinda cool - just not on a CAR.

JMHO.

LoLoL

Actually I thought it was freakin hilarious. I don't really care who bought one. It would seem out of place in 99.919245% of vehicles. It might work in an old CJ or something. Hmm but it would have to have rusted-out body panels. And a leaky top. And smoky exhaust. And its driver would have to live 29 miles from the nearest paved road. Even then, he'd probably rather not find a rock when he grabs for the shifter... I still laugh every time I see that pic.

That's it man. I'm buying one - and furthermore, I am going to drill out 2 holes in it for the shift release and O/D button so I can use it on my automatic.

Just to spite ya'. Hehe.

i showed the shifter to a few friends of mine that go rock crawling and rallyX in their big ol 4x4's. they didn't like those things one bit and said they could make stuff like that for free. they all bought their eight ball shifters though, so i don't know. not to get all off topic or anything but those rallyx races in big 4x4's are loads of fun. we caught some major air this past weekend. i'll try to find somewhere to post the photos. there's nothing better than taking a hairpin turn at 50mph in a truck running on 33s. it feels like you are about to tip over but you never do. definitely a weird feeling compared to my lowered p5.

Those are some nasty shift knobs...looks like someone crapped on it and rounded off the corners (the ones already installed on the cars)

First of all, JC Whitney does not cater to "performance-minded" individuals. Who can take a catalog printed on newspaper with drawings of their products seriously??? C'mon, this isn't the 50's anymore.
This one has to go into the "redneck" hall of fame. It would probably look better if it used a stick as the shifter. You can cut it down for an instant short shifter. This should be marketed to those Tree-hugging hippies in their VW buses.
