All righty, who's staying up to watch the game???

Who are your favourites?

Since Yugoslavia didn't make it this year :crying: ........

I'll be cheering for Portugal and Cameroon.... like both of their styles of play

Soccer??? LOL! It's a fact that Americans are not soccer crazy? Why? Why? Why? We prefer American Football than Soccer? Is it because we're not good in soccer and will never be?

To stretch this a little further, You aren't born good at a sport, the fact that the majority of United States public schools could give a shit about soccer is the reason we aren't good at it, now why don't all those countries come over here and beat us in Football? Thats what I thought. Even though I do find Rugby to be amusing, I get bored with sports in general. Why aren't those countries interested in football? Cause they suck at it :D I wish the US would focus more on soccer, but it will never happen.

So who saw Senegal beat the shit out of France?!?

What a hilarius victory. Laughed my ass off when I read about that yesterday.

tresdos3 June-2nd-2002 08:56 AM

u guys crack me up!:)

Senegal played their hearts out and deserved to win.
I think Argentina is looking hard to beat. Even if some of them get injured they've got a deep bench.

Anyways i'm gonna be biased and go for all the South American teams.

p.s. i laughed my ass off when Saudi Arabia got trashed by Germany.

p.s. i think the U.S. should keep improving as the whole region including thelikes of Jamaica Costa Rica is improvig heaps....kind of like a chain reaction...plus there's heaps of hispanics there now..and most of them can play;)

p.s2 i was watching an ozzy game of rugby league which was played in Long Beach as an exhibition...and they interviewed this guy from the crowd and asked him how he liked it his response--"that was intense man...it made NFL look like a John Denver concert"...sorry i had to laugh at that too..:D

is it in the olympics?.......

Paraguay-Denmark game was pretty good....... tonight we're all going out at 4am down the Italian section of town to see what's open for their game hehe

No arguing that.. I just laughed at the fact that france was the favorite to win and were probably thinking that Senegal was gonna be a cakewalk...

Didn't see the Germany/SA match.. :(

Argentina is a great team...

wow what a night (day?) for the Big 3

Far East Asian countries, that is. In its first ever World Cup appearance, China kept it close (ie. no scores) for 60 minutes before Costa Rica blew it open with 2 goals in 4 minutes, Japan got points for tying with Belgium, and Korea got its first ever World Cup victory against Poland. Wow what a great day for soccer in these countries. :D

btw I stayed up til 5AM to watch the matches, then woke up at 8:30 to go to work, and I'm not feeling tired at all, wth??? :D

Yeah, Asian and African football has come a LONG way in the last decade. It's great for the sport as now there's at least 60 countries that have the quality to make it in the world cup every year, and there's about 10 REAL contenders that could win the cup .......

ZoomZoomH June-5th-2002 09:03 AM

US upsets Portugal, 5th ranked in the world!!!!!

whooowee!

with only Korea and Poland remaining, I think US has a very good chance to advance to the second round with 3 wins!!

go USA!

Makaveli June-5th-2002 04:46 PM

that was kind of a fluke, but USA seemed faster then the Portugal defence.......

Poland is a better team then they showed in the first game
