Why is this forum not full of people????

Just wanted to know where everyone went to. I know some went to clubprotege and mazdamp3.com, but come on, there got to be some people who are willing to stick it out here. What do you guys think can be done to make this forum mnore active??

fst323 January-25th-2004 05:08 PM

nothing. they will either post, or they wont. i think the only thing that MIGHT bring people back, is free stuff. but even that is sketchy. :)

RODSCALIP5 January-25th-2004 07:55 PM

Damn, totally different from back in the day :(

I noticed the drop in all the protege forums...It's not suprising though...Many older people that worked up their protege's..have sold them and moved on...

Some freebies..might be nice..But i think what will really help is revamping the website..And changin the overall look and feel..Like adding something similar to what protege5.com has..with showing new posts on the right portion of the screen!

very true. back when i had my Celica, the forum was always jumping, and i was always on. once i sold it, i never went back and i heard that not too many other people did either. such is life. i guess we should all get used to the natural progression of it. :)

the natural progression of it...
it kind of makes you think, when will our proteges be a thing of the pass especially the first gens, and when this forum will eventually fold.
or do you think the proteges have the "staying power" like some of the classics like the vw beetle or the mustang.
but to me it seems that no one really knows about the reliability, the power, and the potential of these cars.

thats true. a lot of people are misinformed, or uninformed about the Mazda lineup in general. unfortunately, i dont think theres much to be done about that. all i can do is spread the word to friends, and try to get them to buy the Pro/323.

to be honest, i dont think the Protege/323 will never have the classic nostalgia that the Mustang did, just because of the production dates. the Mustang was introduced very early, followed by the ever-popular Celica a few years later. both are still going strong with a HUGE following. the 323 was introduced into America in the early 80's badged as a GLC. it didnt catch on well. and neither did the 323 sedans. it wasnt until Mazda changed from the 323 badging that some interest was even derived. and of course now, the Mazda line is well known and somewhat poplular in my opinion.

anyways, got sidetracked there. just my $0.02. :)

well the main reason a lot of people jumped ship was old moderators....unfortanately its hard to lure people back...we are now trying to be more informative, instead of just "do a search" responses...there is ALOT of traffic on clubprotege from former members..but this board has the biggest library of information....posting has slowly picked up...only thing we can do is to keep plugging away....any good suggestions should be posted in the site suggestions section...or feel free to IM or email me or any of the other moderators and we can forward to Ryan

bivery January-26th-2004 02:19 PM

me personally, i dont have a great deal of loyality to protegelcub.com, but instead to mazda's namely the protege, i love to talk about pros and 323s, I now have memberships to both clubpro and proclub, but i dont see the need for two. why cant we just be the clubprotegeclub or something. There is not enough of us to have to have different forums

Mac, can you Harlem and Ryan get clubpro to unify the boards?

www .clubprotege .com
+ www .protegeclub .com ==
www .clubprotegeclub .com??

or something

macdaddyslomo January-26th-2004 02:38 PM

seriously doubt it...not due to problems over here...there was a lot of dissention and harsh feelings with the people that started clubprotege.com....that is a good idea though, since clubprotege has so many members and we have such a wealth of information....plus they got Edwin Mann over there....he is like a Mazda Encyclopedia!!! but i doubt it...ill forward to Ryan tho for sh**s and giggles

I agree, it will never happen. Reason being is that Clubp was started by "disgruntled posters" from this joint that got pissed when this board went down a few months back.
I think protege5.com got started because of people pissed off at this place too, but I'm not 100% sure about that one. The others are right though, there's a huge amount of info here. But there's even more at the Protegetech Yahoo group but its much harder to search for it there.

is that really the REASON clubprotege.com got started? how pathetic of an excuse is that...

We will survive damm it :D !!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, I think that who ever is paying for this forum to stay alive is wasting their money. As a webmaster, I know of the costs it takes to keep a place like this running. I visit this forum very frequently, and I always reply to the best of my knowledge. But if I cannot answer thier question, (if its 1,2 gens related) I would send to clubprotege. This place is a great info database, and it should definately be saved. Though, why not just archive the search database, and link it to clubprotege.com or protege5.com. I think that moderators from both places should just get along, you all have the same goal here. Like the old saying goes, "If you can't beat them, join them."
