What's The Post Count Fetish?
 

Ok, now this out of many things, just boggles the hell out of me. The post whoring is out of hand, but Wil has just addressed that. My question to all of you is, what the hell is the big idea with the damn little post counter thingy? Do you think it represents seniority? Look at Foxy - she has one of the highest post counts on the board, but is still a relative newbie. Blue didn't get bad until Foxy (that bad influence :p ) got to him. Now as for Nuke, Gro, Edwin, and company, they're moderators. They've been here a long tme. They are the only ones with the "actual" high post counts...

So, I ask you this my fellow Protegevilliains: What the hell is the deal with the post counter fetish?!?!?! Could someone please at least attempt to provide me with an explanation? I just don't get it... I've earned every one of my posts "legitimately" but I feel like no greater of a person than when I had 50 posts. I just don't understand... :confused:

Amen to that. I have a lot of posts, but I've been around for a year. When I'm at work and need a break, I usually hit up the page to see what's new/exciting. I don't care about my post count perse, I care about coming here and people recongnizing who I am. I don't care what happens to the post count, I just want my forum! :D

Yep, I was here since the beginning too (almost) and I have probably have the lowest post count to time ratio here...

but some people @ work sit infront of a computer all day doing nothing and post like crazy becuase they have nothing better to do!

I post like crazy..but it's just my 'mental state':eek: and it has nothing to do with my post count.

Although I do have 3k+ posts over on Club Focus..but who's counting???

I log on every night and read all new post, if I have an answer or question I'll post, If not I sign off. Every night though, I see posts by the same few people, usually with a post that really don't mean anything to anyone. Some will post on every topic. I'm sorry ,I just do not have a question or answer every single day. If your bored and have nothing else going on in your life, then just read. Y ou don't have to post a comment on every thread on this forum.

yea i do the same thing, the board is a good spot to find stuff out and share some funny finds on the net

I like to read and post if I have a good answer to something. I don't want to clutter up the threads with pointless bullshit. At one point i went alomst a month without reading because the post whoring ws ridiculous. Ask Edwin or someone else about my previous contribitions versus present. Its mindboggling how a person can do a 180 degree u-turn. My post count is sorta high compared to otheres, however some have extreme post counts when compared to how long they have been here.

I don't think its anyone persons fault, but from some of the replies I think it will get better and I'm here to stay. Thank you the reply Foxy. Hopefully others will be willing to look from the outside like you. I need to take a look from the outside too probably.
