What to do in this situation?

Ok what do you do if there's a drought in your area. No washing of you car at home. Must be done at a commercial car wash. Only car wash I would go to is the one where u have the little hand held jet spray thingy. How do you wash well when you don't want to use the brush that everyone uses and there's no bucketwashing? I will never bring my pro to an automatic car wash even in the winter.

i always go to DIY washes.... EVERYTIME!! they have the hand held pressure washer and the brush and stuff... it works great! then i go home and use a towel and force the left over dirt off..

It may cost a few more quarters or

Take a bucket, a mitt, wheel cleaner, wheel brush, chamois, etc.

Go to the local "Jet Spray Car Car Wash"

Use just the water selection to get the car wet, soap it down, rinse it off, and clean the wheels.

Pull the car into a shaded area (Don't want water spots) and then dry it off.

That's about all I can think of.

Good Luck

another option is this, DRY WASH AND GUARD of course I am a real nut about keeping my car clean...and it RARELY gets very dirty....if it gets REALLY dirty...I will use the car wash with the hand held wands to knock off the big stuff then I drive home and use this. ..... if the car is just dusty.....the DRY WASH AND GUARD gets used.....believe it or not guys...its great stuff...its hard to believe that it wouldn't scratch your baby up...but it doesn't.....a good friend of mine turned me on to this stuff....HE started using it on his show truck that he drives on the road REGULARLY! and it looks better than the day he baught it. Its not cheep....but then the good stuff rarely is.

it's def. not cheap, but how long does the bottle last let's say if you wash every week or two?

there are some gas station around with 'non-contact' wash. I don't what you really call it. but they only use pressured water spray and blow dry. you might want to give that a try. but if you go rally like I did in the pic below, it's not going to clean it well enough :D

oooo nice scooby, u shoulda gotten the rex though. but any kind of impreza is amazing lol

ibluevirus August-29th-2002 10:13 PM

Thanks! Yeah, a rex would be nice, but I am a realistic person. I am only 22 and paying everything myself. (mom thinks if I want a car or anything for that matter, it's my problem  ) So I can't possibly afford the monthly AND insurance (still in school but will be done SOON!!). It's sad to see so many people have to sell their rex right now simply because they can't make the payment. Is that true only with people with high payment? Or just people in general due to the economy? Sorry for jacking the thread. :D

You can also try to go when the wash is not very busy - I know my local one is open 24/7 - even thought the office/shop is closed, the machines still work - and wash till your hands are pruned.

I do this all the time. just so I can spend the extra time to do all the little things they get pissed about if people are waiting.
