Good choice. Looks good. Just get the base model or did you add some options?

protegeDX May 6, 2003 09:27 PM

clean beast

Nice car. Don't like the grille and the blue rims though but overall really nice.

pluto316 May 6, 2003 11:20 PM

Sure, keep your Scooby. Wait till I get my dream car..

Buick.

Grand.

National.

hotrod0001 May 6, 2003 11:31 PM

So whats done to the car. Im guessing you bought it used because of all the extras on it. I see atleast an aftermarket exhaust. So how much was it? All in all good choice

Buick Grand National. niiiiiiiiiiiiiiceeeeeeeeeeeeee. I wish i could get one... raw power.

Subaru and Buick

I agree! The Grand National is one of the coolest cars ever made. On the actual topic of the forum, I agree with leungwingkei about the rims, but not so much the grill. However, it is one of the nicest cars on the road, and damn does it move. I'd also like to know how much you picked it up for, if you don't mind us asking. I REALLY wanted one when I got my P5, and I got the P5 because the front was very similar. However, I was amazed at the P5's interior compared to the WRX's. They are very, VERY similar. Good luck with it. My friends father has a Subaru with 200k on it, so it should be a pretty dependable car (knock on wood).

one of my buddies at work has a '95 240sx with the sr20det motor swap. all he has done is exhaust, intake and suspension. and it also has upgraded cams(they didn't even know it had them til they took off the valve cover). anyways, he smoked a grand national the other nite that was running 16lbs of boost. the 240sx was only running 12psi. raw power huh?

I don't know much about the grand nationals other than they're turbo. Are they all automatic? Automatic and heavy-assness would definately let it get pwned by a lightweight car that's probably pushing 300(or more) to the wheels (sr20det @ 12psi).

None the less, they are bad ass... But the WRX is also hella-sweet, dude!

Double D May 7, 2003 06:03 PM

Thanks for all the feedback.

leungwingkei: The grill is the UK version, the rims are gun metal, not blue

hotrod0001: I bought it off a good friend for 19k with the STi body kit, grill, and STi exhaust, MRT springs/KYB struts, Whiteline 22mm sways, I just ordered the Vishnu Stage 0 Unichip, GFB 50/50 Blow off valve and the Cobb Tuning Up/Down pipe. the rims are Buddy Club p-1's with Advan rubber (got the JDM parts hookup). The car is sooooo much fun, picked it up about 10 days ago, and already managed to put 1500 miles on it :D

Too much fun!

It's a great car. I like the rims......I don't like all the other ricer stuff on it like the skirts and all that. There's nothing very good looking about a WRX but it's a great performer.

I'd rather have the WRX myself...Nice choice!

BTW, GN = 3.8 turbo V6, TH700-R4 auto trans. Around 250hp if I remember right...GNX was a little more. And yeah, they're heavy, but quick.

pluto316 May 7, 2003 08:34 PM

I seem them with 500+ WHP, that's pretty bad ass for a small block V6 from the late 70s.

Nigaud5sx May 7, 2003 09:50 PM

Man, Double D, how much money do you have?! You got a P5 that is no more than two years old, and now you get a WRX with lotsa goodies? I wish I was you...

It's all good though....my friend is giving me his '96 Deville (pristine condition - Northstar V8)....I can pimp that sucker out! No damn wire wheels or chrome fender trim......
