VW Bora

Anyone ever heard of one? Or seen one? This dude in my complex has one...looks the same as a Jetta but with a body kit. I figured he had just rebadged it, but then I saw another one today. Looked just the same...do they exist?

You are right about Bora Jetta name thing, but Golf was, is, and I think, always will be Golf. Now that Golf is the most produced car ever at more then 22 million sold, I think it has become an icon, and will always be known as Golf.

The Bora and the Jetta are the exact same car, maybe some dealer options are different in each country, but the car is basically the same. The Golf however doesn't have any other name (that I know of), it's called the same in europe, latin america, asia...

Here we get the Bora.

The current Jetta/Bora is the latest gen, released in 1999 I think. It shares it's platform with the Golf.
I think it's the other way around, the ventos are 3rd gen jettas/boras. Check out this 93"Vento"

Bora is a US 1999 and up Jetta,Vento is a 1993-1999 US Jetta,Golfs had same names. VW is having a big problems now that ar too long to list.If they have same quality as mazda they would be a good cars, but they not even close to it and trust me on that i work as a tech in VW deler and i see those cars every day.

Power windows were the problem beore now they have fix for it but 1.8t coil packs go bad as crazy and they come out with new coils and they still go bad the parts are on back order and its crazy we got at mine deler like over 20 cars down and we have parts for over 2 weeks and they keep on coming.VW also had problems with mas air flow sensors, blow off valves, window regulators, radiaos, glove box,o2 sensors ,cats, coil packs, air bags, and i can keeep on going for hours.

I like VWs, the 1.8t is a sweet ride but the quality issues are a big con and they're too damn expensive here, like $23k for a 1.8t .

In Europe we have Jetta, Jetta 2, Vento (US Jetta3) and Bora(US Jetta4), current Golf is 4th generation. They seem to like winds/streams (Golf, Vento, Bora )
