Do it again, I wanna see.

D'oh! Still no luck with the upload. Maybe uber-impressive was a little strong, it's not like a whole wall of vinyl or anything, just four crates full. I'll keep trying, though.

Success at last! The pic uploaded. Seems kinda anti-climactic now. Anyway, there it is, my record collection. Cool prize to anyone that can identify all the titles visible in the photo.

scotty878 October-20th-2005 07:19 PM

Anti-climactic indeed, no pic still....lol

Jackelope October-21st-2005 07:04 AM

thats alot of vinyl

kargoboy October-21st-2005 11:42 AM

Yay for vinyl. My collection isn;t quite as impresive; I've given a lot of things away in years past.
Faves:

PF "Dark Side of the Moon" with poster still folded and never used inside. Nobody gives you posters any more.
"The Clash" ('Janie Jones' et al--the UK release)
Elvis Costello "My Aim is True"

lots more, too
and the first album ever bought, Neil Young's "Harvest"

I have a few and my Parents have a lot. My Basement flooded from all the rain we got here in the north east and we lost a lot of records....Nice Collection though!

kargoboy October-21st-2005 06:02 PM

I had a basement flood this year too, 1500.00 to clean it up and that doesn't count losses.
The only thing I really miss: nearly 15 years of Rolling Stone Magazines *gone*

basement floods probably claim more records than anything else. It sucks, they mold, the jacket sticks to the wax, just nothing you can do about it, worse if you're allergic. Of course, I'm in florida now, so there are no basements. The attic is NOT an appropriate place to store the stuff either. Mine are dusty right now, but they'll be the first thing to go in the car if we have to evacuate for the hurricane.

scotty878 October-22nd-2005 10:55 AM

Yeah, I had to clean my basement myself, got the pump off my pool cover and tossed the hose out the window. Than any remaining puddles were vaccumed up by my shop vac. It sucked. We lost a lot of stuff too, couldnt tell you how much, a lot of stuff with sentimental value too. But hey, it got my mom and I motivated to finally throw a bunch of crap out and clean the basement!

I need to clean my room than I'm probably going to hook the record player back up in here so I can listen to the good stuff!

PTP, stay safe and make sure you get out of there if necessary!
