The trip from Japan

Hey,

This is a dumb question, but I was just wondering if any of you guys know, how long it took for our cars to get from Japan to Mazda North America on the boat? Just a dumb question that I thought I would ask.

Thanks
Barry

that is hard to say.....and can't really calculate it since we don't know the actual route taken...or the speed of the ship.....but I can say for sure, it was more than a week. As I have personally made the trip from the Phillipines to San Francisco on a ship...and it took about a week...and we were haulin ass too. WAY faster than some gargo ship would or COULD travel.

I've had shipments come in from china and it's like a month, so I would figure somewhere in that range...

yes it would take anywhere between 1 day and 2 months! :p

Don't know but a month or so. took me 21 hours from LA to Asia on a plane.. not to mention connecting flights from VA to CA. What more on a ship?

hehe, it's like sending our cars via usps parcel post. frickin' 30 days at the least! yeah, the average time is about a month or so. unless a big nasty whale swallows the ship, then it'll take longer. :p

That sucks. How long did it took them to replace your friend's ride?

I think it took about another month, but like, it's a friend of a friend, so I don't even know, just my friend told me. If I remember right, it was a bmw and when u choose ur options with that car they put them together in germany and then ship it over. Anyways it was just kinda funny cause apparently the dealer called and was like "your car is in the oceaen between germany and north america.":)

I receive cargo containers twice a month from Japan. It usually takes about 2 weeks in transit. Tack on another 3 days or so for customs and that's it. For a large company like Mazda, the customs wait is usually waived.
