The tree's branches that are out of the pics are probably supporting a lot of the weight....or maybe more cars got nailed! Ouch! LOL!!

That pictures an obvious set up. Look. How did that tree get exactly where it was? If it would have fallen just as it appears in the picture, it would have had to be growing out of the pavment. (note specific lack of hole in pavement where tree should have existed)

Besides, I've seen many downed trees in my life, enough to know that a falling tree would never pull it's roots out of the ground like that... err... it's physics... leverage, what-ever the hell.

And what kind of root system is that!!! Christ, it's amazing that those roots grew naturally to look like someone sawed them all off!!!

I think that your wrong did you not look at the link. this came from the BBC. they don't stage stuff.

that storm musta been hella strong in order to rip a tree out from the ground!!!! do you know how much torque a truck needs in order to do something like that? but this storm did it just by high winds!!

It wasn't just one tree, it was a lot of them, check out the pics in the link. Why the hell would these pictures be 'staged'???? What the hell would have been gained from it?

OMG, there are just some things that there would be no benefit from calling BS on. This is one of those situations.

Brubeck July-15th-2002 03:30 PM

Yeah... what really suprises me the most is that the wind picked up the tree and moved it at least 10 feet over before dropping it, yet that mini didn't even move an inch. That thing must have a hell of parking brake!
