Station Wagon for the Uber-rich people!

I think this is a bit outrageous, but definately something special.
Here is the article from Autoweek.com:
By MARK VAUGHN

"WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE between a shooting brake, an estate wagon and a station wagon?

Price, naturally. Any ramble through your local paper’s automobile classifieds will return any number of Olds Vista Cruiser station wagons priced in the hundreds of dollars. But why spend hundreds on a wagon when you can spend hundreds of thousands on a shooting brake?
http://www.autoweek.com/weekart/2003..._frontview.jpg
For those willing to spend, consider the Von Genaddi Design (VGD) Shooting Brake, a customized Bentley with a little more “Ar” in the Arnage.

“Why move down, or I should say why move over to a Mercedes or an Audi (wagon) when this is the vehicle you’re accustomed to,” asked VGD founder Mark Gerisch rhetorically.

Gerisch, who has been in the customization business for 23 years in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, lists the price of the basic conversion at $87,000 (plus the cost of the $220,000 Bentley). Just about any subsequent conversion you could want is available after that.

A “rolling bed,” which slides out for easier access to shotguns and picnic baskets is $25,000; a sunroof $14,000; and an all-wheel-drive setup $42,000. That’s $388,000—just enough to get you into the “shooting brake” category and out of “station wagons” forever. For more info see www.vgdauto.com.

Who wants a Bentley wagon anyways. I think the guy is stupid for coming up with the idea in the first place. $388,000 wagon.
I know it's a Bentley but damn.

I saw that car in person, two weeks ago.

It's very nice. ;)

I'm I the only one who thinks that hearses (old ones) look kinda cool? I'd love to soup one of those up.

Wow, JAC, we must share brain waves. :p I always wanted to deck out a hearse. I would put some purple or green neons all around and some stylin billet wheels. But for the finale, I'd have a coffin in the back which would double as my sub enclosure! Now talk about a conversation piece. :D

Holy crap man! I have similar ideas, I thought about the coffin but instead of an enclosure I would use it as an amp rack, maybe with a see through plexi glass window on the top and there would be green neons all over the place. Some kickass graphics inside, of a graveyard or the grim reaper or something like that....damn it, I want a hearse!

I guess I'm not the only weirdo, lol :D .

Too bad you don't live closer because that would be fun to collaborate. :D

You guys should have joined the Monster Garage team that was building the hearse. Too bad they f*cked up and had to be Jesse's first failure, but they had some nice ideas too.

Haha, I saw that one turbonium. Weren't they attemptin something with hydraulics? I can't remember exactly what their mission was.

If you want exotic station wagons, you should check out the Sultan of Brunei's collection. He is loaded with oil money, and owns what is probably the world's largest collection of exotica. He also has a fondness for station wagons, and has had numerous custom wagons built for him by Ferrari, Aston Martin and Rolls Royce. He often lends them out to guests.

A few pics in case you think I'm joking....

Another Ferrari 456GT wagon

He repotedly has so many exotics that Ferrari and Aston Martin have assigned full-time factory mechanics to his home to keep his cars well maintained.

Tough life.

I was very exited about that project but then they screwed it all up  .

Ferrari station wagon... that's interesting...

...but the Bentley one?!? That's just tasteless. I dunno, I never saw the huge craze over Bentleys and Rolls...

Maybe that's just me. :(
