I imagine any number of you received an email similar to this:

Spam is advertising email I didn't ask for. Your mail was sent to my address you illegitimately retrieved from a list I am a member of. Spam is treated with great scorn and disgust. Senders of spam are viewed as the true bottom-dwellers of society: human cockroaches. As systems administrator of the server to which you sent spam to me, I have blocked you from sending any more to me or the 100000 others who receive email at this server. Have a nice day. Bruce |
Yeah, I got that too. SPAM SUCKS!!!! At least it wasn't the usual about free vacations or xxx rated midget videos.

Dear Bruce, I did not retrieve your email address from a list, I was reading the forums and came accross your posts. I thought you might be interested in some of our specialized leather products for your car. I personally wrote out the email to you, it is not an automated thing, sorry for the trouble. Spam is bad.
Harvesting email address is bad. However, if it is legit, at least it was something some people here might possible be interested in. I'm not sticking up for what he did, I'm just impressed I got spam that fits my interest. |
I agree it's bad spam, but I still looked at the site and I was actually auite pleased with the product... Not a bad looking boot! :p

And I forwarded his e-mail address to one friend of mine who just love to send out e-mail bombs (in millions) to others. |
