Road Rage

Hey i know im not the only one that has its. So lets hear how people piss you off on the road!!!!

for me there are two things that stick out right away. people that pull up to a stop light or sign on a four line hyw. and there line ends on the other side of the road. and they try to cut in. and another is people that pass and think you should slow down to let them in. hell if your going to pass f*&^ing pass! The FInger

in hawaii we have the slow lane and the slower lane. that pisses me off. and the guy that boxes you in when you have somewhere to go. hmmm, can't forget about the cell phone freak who hasn't learn to drive and talk at the same time!

actually, everything pisses me off. except hotties driving in the car next to me. :D

jking October-17th-2001 02:09 PM

I hate when people are in a hurry to get in front of you then decide to go slow. That probably pisses me off the most. Also people that drive in the far left lane (supposed to be passing lane/fast lane) and drive under the speed limit.

my biggest complaint is when people don't use a damn blinker...how hard is it to let me know what and where the fuct your going.....does it take that much energy to push a lever up or down.....i don't know just pisses me off....

what really shits me is the idiots who love to tailgate. ummm what happens if for some god unforsaken reason the car infront has to slow down in a hurry???

or those that pass on the wrong lane eg the slow lane on a three lane hwy..

Some lady almost experienced some road rage yesterday. If I wasn't trying to save my carpet. Some dumb ass lady slammed on her brakes in front of me for no reason yesterday. Made me spill TWO 32oz drinks from taco bell in my car. Dr pepper and sprite, a nice sticky ass mess. Thank god for simple green :D took the stains out of my carpet with ease. But still, people are dumb. Driving tests should be harder.

Makaveli October-19th-2001 01:12 AM

yup, I hate all of those, I barely avoided a few accidents already because of people not checking their blindspots. This byatch slamed on her brakes before and then fingered me :squint fi , what a lesbo (she had the lesbian flag on her car), she was going 45 km/h in a 50 zone, sunny day, nobody around, and I was trailing her 10 metres back in her stupid white trashy Mustang.

I just must say that I agree with TheMAN 100%. Do you live in NJ? That's how people drive here...

David October-19th-2001 12:23 PM

And again TheMan is right!
Some other things are as you pass they speedup.
Have any of you seen a Jag, Volvo, M-B, BMW, RR, Bentley, Audi, or Saab at night and it looks like they have one brake light on sometimes two but the brakes aren't on. That’s because they have rear fog lights. But these a**holes don't know that. And they’re blinding you until you pass them. :squint fi
Oh and the people that use the "for slow vehicles only" lane to pass at 100MPH when the left lane is open.:dunno

Just to show you, I got my licence in Poland. You have to be 18. The written exam is around 250 questions, and no, you don't get questions like "what do you do when you see NO TURN ON RED sign?". Then after you pass the written exam, you are required to take 30 hours of driving with the instructor. That is your road test. If the instructor fails you, you start over. It took me around 3 weeks to get mine licence, and boy you apreciate it. Here in US, I got 25 lame questions, road test that did not lasted even 5 minutes, and that's it. It's scary. :thumbs do

I think my biggest peeve is tailgaters....there is no reason for it, I always drive the speed limit. I'm not like a used to be, I guess grown up a little, and NEVER EVER speed. I see no reason in it anymore.

But with people that tail you, this is where having a 5spd is fun. They'll be up on your ass, and I'll just push the clutch in for a few seconds, let the RPMs drop and the let off. That will slow the car down a little. If they don't get the point then it's time to down shift. Not a drastic downshift but to the point where they figure that it's time to back off or pass.

Usually when I'm just casually driving, the shift from 1st to 2nd from a stop light is slow. I love when people are riding you the second you get a green light, more incentive to have a REALLY slow 1st to 2nd shift.

Never, ever going over the speed limit sounds like a bad idea to me...
The real issue is for you go always go the "common speed" .. the same as everyone else. It's much worse to be going slower than all the other cars on the road and creating a backlog than it is to be technically breaking the law by going 60 in a 45 MPH(or 120 in a 100 KPH) zone.

Ooohhh, I'm going to have to disagree with you there, umm yeah. I have no reason to drive over the speed limit. It's there for a reason. People can go around me if they want, I'm not stopping them. Hell I used to be in the group of [childvoice]You must always drive at least 5 over to please everyone else[/childvoice] I don't care how anyone views me on the road. I keep to my own and drive the speed limit. Only time I ever exceed it would be merging into traffic. Now don't get me wrong. I don't drive like a grandma, afraid to do anything. I drive with the best of them, aggressively at times, but always within the speed limit.

I take my speed (the small amount that I have) to the track. I have no respect for speeders. I'll laugh at the day when you are pleading to the judge "I was just keeping up with traffic...the cop singled me out"

Makaveli October-20th-2001 08:27 AM

I feel like the comfortable speed for me is 65-70km/h, the limit is 50........ Why? I have more then enough control of my car to stop in time, or enough speed to pass someone if I need to. Most of the time though I'm restricted to going 50 because of people like Ambient !!!!:the finge j/k, don't mind going 50, but I enjoy the ride a lot more if it's 65.........

rowan October-20th-2001 10:44 AM

Well, 3 things...

1- Speed limits today are artificial. Most of the cars on the road are quite capable of safely traveling 110-120 on a 6-lane divided highway (such as the 400-series highways in Ontario).
Show me one cop that goes slower than 120 on any 400-series highway and I'll buy you a whole box of doughnuts. =) They keep speed limits low so that it seems safer, and because speeding tickets are great money makers! No work, big payoff for tagging someone with a big fine for +30. I would be much happier if they concentrated on catching the bad drivers .. ones who are wreckless or incompetent .. than people who are going fast but are in control

2- Cops are not going to single you out for going the common speed... maybe where you live, but here it's just not going to happen. Now, if you are holding up traffic then you actually will get pulled over because it is really dangerous to be going 20Km/h slower than everyone else on the road.

3- About the going slow in the far-left lane thing... i swear that no one in Ontario gets training about how to drive on a big highway.. the Right lane is for driving, and the 2 left lanes are both for passing! It's sooo frustrating when people clutter up the middle (passing) lane when there's no one in the right lane for 0 minutes ahead of them.. speaking of dangerous. heh

Please note that I never said I drive fast, or that I race on public roads. So don't try and discredit me by saying otherwise.

NegatiZE October-20th-2001 01:50 PM

1) Tailgating
2) Kids driving around with their seats reclined all the way back, stereo up, windows down, thinking they own the road
3) Soccer Moms

were not to far away from the autobahn here. drive I-5 or I-90 in the west. I drove down to portland avg. about 90 the whole way. but got up to 105. except for seattle but that was still about 75 thru there. when it comes to interstate driveing i will try to match the group of drivers. that way im not a hazard by making people go around me all the time. Two lane roads are different. i go about 5 over the speed limit then. and when there is a passing lane i get over. Im not out there to try to contol anyones speed. just stay off my ASS!

I would love to have different classes of licenses.. it's a really good idea but would require something like either hooking up every cop radar/computer system to a live database .. or having a transmitter as part of your license that cops could read from their cruisers..

Nothing would be worse than going through all the test to get your "high-performance" or "skilled" license than to be continually pulled over by cops just to find out they can't touch you for going +30....
That said, it still wouldn't be safe to go high speeds on public roads because you're still sharing the road with all those other "normal" drivers. :)
