Yes,
That board is strict, but since it's a general Honda technical board that doesn't pertain to a certain model, they want to make sure that everyone stays on topic. The backalley section is for members to post their for sale ads and general discussion, but again, there is a requirement just to get into there. That board is very different from any other board on the web. You don't see any questions like "what color car should I get?" or "Which sticker should I put on my car?" types of posts. I've been a member of that board for over 3 years, it really cuts down on repetitve posts that plague this, and many other car-related boards. You used to have to prove that you know your shit by taking a test. If you don't pass, you don't get in. Cuts down on board trolls too. I don't think they don't do that anymore though.

no they require you post 20 non retard posts, just to be advanced. but they are damn helpful. im swapping a si engine into a 89 integra. and have gotten nothing but help.

well...

I can see what their objective is, but personally, I like sharing my knowledge with ANY who need it. I wouldn't want to put a prerequisite on access to what I know. To do so would make the whole process pointless.

I may not know everything, but I sure like to think so! :D

Anyway, like I told my wife, "We'll get along fine as soon as you realize I'm always right." Maybe that's why she divorced me........:dunno:

(moral: don't take yourself to seriously)

Now, how do you define what questionably offensive material is. We are entitiled to opinions, and if you find my opnion offensive, then get on with it.

In my opinion the guys that run that forum are meat-heads, and definately full of themselves.

By the way, Ben, what forum is it?
