I watch it mostly when I get a chance too which isn't all the time. Good racing though. I have been also trying to watch SCCA which has the Pro beating everyone right now. Got to love it

I think Pasta may have been refering to World Rallying, In the late 80's Mazda had a factory 323 GTX rally car w/ 300+ hp. They didn't do so well since the Transmissions kept breaking.
Yes, I am the Photographer for the Hyundai Rally Team and I do some navigating in the Northeast regional championship, which is club rallies. http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/c6859...nNIl9AOZienZna P Menace, I was wondering what that was, when I went for the double take, it was gone-yikes! I had heard that the top cars don't catch air there since air can lose time and cause damage to the car. The shot of the EVO in the air I just posted- he broke a shock when he landed then proceeded to roll the car at the next corner-totaled it. So I went to another location that did not have the crowds. The best part of the weekend though, I got to go for a ride in the Hyundai during a test session- 400hp 4wd makes for some fun |
Your dad probably did TSD rallying (Time Speed Distance) which is about being accurate and map reading, done on open public roads. If you arrive at the controls early or late you get penalized, so there is no speeding- fun to participate, not exciting to watch, probably why you dad didn't undertand why you wanted to go.
If you ever decide to get into rallying, don't build your own car, you will spend way too much money. The best thing to do is buy a used already prepared race car. Building cars is for when you are rich or have important sponsors paying for it. |
