R.I.P '92 Protege DX 1992-2004

Well, me and a couple of my friends were in kimball tonite and we were leaving walmart and i start the car up and i put it into gear and all i hear is a grinding sound....So now ive got to find a new car b/c fixing this one will probably be as much as a new one, and if i do get a new car I WILL NOT HAVE AN AUTOMATIC!!!...

Good luck! Glad to see the Pro lasted that long. I'm sure just for a diagnosis, a transmission shop would charge $100-200 to tell you what is wrong at least.

Let us know when you put her down, so we can have a proper eulogy...
Hope there's another Mazda in your future.

There's a guy selling a 929 here for $750...needs an exhaust and a good "freshening up" but I could do all that for you. It would be a real nice car for cruising around in if you wanted to build the Protege into a play car.

i didnt know a 929 existed.....is it manual?
