Protege Web Server

I'm working on building a second system to run Linux only and was thinking about putting it outside of my firewall and running some servers on it. I thought there may be some interest from the people on the board here in an IRC server so we could chat to each other in real time and all that good stuff. I was going to put my Protege site on it (which I haven't touched in quite some time) and possibly an FTP server on it (so authorized people can upload pictures and stuff and others can download it). My question is if I go to all the trouble of setting this up and the expense of getting a static IP address from my provider is anyone actually going to use the damn thing?

This is a long term project. I won't be upgrading the current system until after Christmas when the new Opterons are out. Then I will have enough pieces to have this extra computer running, should be able to keep it up pretty much 24/7 but I'm not going to buy an UPS or DNS entry or any of the frilly extra stuff (sorry guys, poor college type person here).

it would be handy for the people who want to upload and then link pictures but don't have their own web space.

might save all the trouble with imagestation etc not performing.
