Proof dealers have no idea what they're selling...

Feel free to post your own, I just find it funny when dealers put an add in for a car without even looking into it, or even making sure they have the right info.

Such as:
http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...2&pgno=1&srt=1
Seems like they are trying to sell a Titanium MSP. However, mentioning twice that it's a hatchback throws me off. Of course, no picture or detail to go with the add, because why would you bother :pfanndina

Or this:
http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...5&pgno=1&srt=1
Everywhere except the title shows that this is a normal V6 edition of the 6. Why throw MAZDASPEED into the title when it isn't one? Even the 'technical' part of the ad claims it to be an MS6, and running a v6 engine.

This one go without an explanation, it just needs to be seen:
http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...1&pgno=1&srt=1

I sure wouldn't buy a car from these places. They don't even seem to know what they are selling in the first place!

Well, that's my rant, haha. If you have any funny dealer ads or whatnot, show em off here!

How weird... I just re-tested them and they work for me... I'll try to fix them up.

that's cause auto trader uses sessions. They will work for you, until the cookie expires (yes I do this for a living). So they will work for you, but for no one else.

Haha, awesome. I fail at thread creation.

you could always just tell us which region and what you searched. Then we would be able to find them.

It was Alberta North (Edmonton and Area). Searched for 'mazdaspeed'. I'll take some screenies and post them later, in the meantime, someone post a funny ad or something!

Wow... a lone auto speed6 with a v6 no less... I wonder if mazda knows this.

Car salesmen are not experts on cars. They are experts on sales.
That's what makes car buying so ftl for car enthusiasts.

J-Protege September-5th-2007 03:56 PM

^^ I don't consider most 'experts' on anything. Being good at sales usually means you should know the product you're selling at least.

My favorites are the listings for RX-7s. Usually you see them listed with a V-6 engine, sometimes a 4 cylinder (I think those are the guys who open the hood and count the spark plugs).

I can't tell you the number of times I have shopped for cars and motorcycles and knew more than the salesperson. I almost got a part time job selling bikes once because the shop owner liked my knowledge, but I was getting a sailing job again so I turned her down. Would have been nice though.

I bet I could sell my Protege as a rotary.

People see Mazda, think of rotory engines.

I've had people say 'Love the sound of that rotary' to me at gas stations, when I shut off my car. I'm like, dude, that's my CAI 'wooshing'.

_Kansei_ September-5th-2007 06:37 PM

Maybe since some people think all Mazdas have rotaries.. and Mazdas have really, really good reliability ratings --people will stop hating on rotaries? :) nah it'll never happen.

J-Protege September-5th-2007 07:02 PM

Their loss, haha. I kinda like having a Mazda, because not everyone has one.

I've seen a few proteges on the road, but most are bone stock. It's nice to have a unique ride.

That's true. Most of my experiences are with infuriatingly arrogant blowhards boasting half-truths if not pure fabrication. It's baffling that they still manage to move product.
