Originally posted by mnkyboy ZoomZoomH, what are your specs on your Win98 system? My old computer, Intel PII 233, use to have Win98 SE on it. I gave it to my parents, and put WinXP Pro on it. To my suprise, it works GREAT! Better then crappy Win98. Just a FYI, in case you ever redo your old computer... actually, this "system" that this particular "OS" is loaded onto, is in fact the same machine that my winXP "OS" is installed onto as well. I have this mobile hard drive rack installed on the physical machine, which basically allows me to expand infinitely and have multiple OS drives handy to load up one at a time. I have a really old machine in computer time, a AMD K6-2 400Mhz w/ 256mb ram, built in 1999(!) and STILL running fine (well it won't handle all the latest 3D games, but I think I'm getting old, games no longer entice me as it used to :( ) |

A neat desktop prank for Windows users
Seeing pictures of all these desktops reminded me of a prank some friends and I used to pull on Windows users back at college, here's how it goes ...
1. Turn off Auto Arrange for icons on the desktop, and move the icons all over the place, randomly 2. Take a screen shot of their desktop 3. Make this screenshot the new desktop background 4. repeat step 1 onwards, as many times as you have the patience to For best results, save as bmp or ppm (or some other non-lossy uncompressed image format - unlike jpeg) every time. Otherwise the oldest icons from the earliest screenshots will start getting fuzzy. Then watch them try to figure out which icons are real (very few!) and which ones are just a part of the background desktop! ROTFLYAO! :) |
My print "screen button" dun gone plum local, me so sadden http://www.ricecopforums.com/images/smilies/bawling.gif
