Picture in Sig

ok, how how do i get a picture into my signature? damn think keeps giving me an x :( depsressing...

first off you have to have the image hosted out there on the net somewhere.....

where are you hosting it now?.... if by chance you have it on Geocities its not gonna work.....they (geocities) doesn't like to play nice.

:{D

okay....here is what you do.

first go to the top of the page and click on "USER PROFILE"

then from the buttons select "EDIT PROFILE"

then in your profile go down to the "SIGNATURE" section....look on the left side...does it say IMAGE CODE ON? if so...that is good...if its OFF...then for one reason or another your ability to post an image to your sig is not okay...and you need to write a note to one of the admins...

HOWEVER>..if its ON...then in the signature you have to have the URL, COMPLETE URL to the image you want there.....but the MOST important part...is NOT just having the url there...but you MUST have the image code IMG BEFORE the url...and /IMG AFTER the url for your image. now you must remember that on either side of IMG and /IMG you MUST put brackets like [ ] or the code won't work...I couldn't type them in or it shows you a box with a red X in it...lol...it thinks I am trying to put in a pic!

THAT should get you hooked up. give it a try. and don't forget to refresh a page that you have already been on just to make sure that page isn't just reposting from your cache.

i've done all of that to, see i'm an assistant webmaster type guy where i work so i'm familiar with code and all, not vb , but i got the image thing and i had the url and all and did the refresh and everything but it still gave me the little box with the little red x :dunno:

If the image is a .gif type, some servers might take more then a day for the picture to work. I do not know which service providers do that, but some do. When I was running my website through 50megs.com, everytime I have changed my banner, which was in .gof format, it took up to three days for it to appear. Otherwise, I kept on seeing the white box with the red cross, or the older version of the banner. Hope it helps.

IF it says the imgage code is ON in your profile...then it should work...

it wonder if its a case of Yahoo NOT playing nice like Geocites?? could be. I don't know I don't use a yahoo photo album...

Just a thought - have you tried posting the image in just a test post rather than in your sig?? If it works in the test post, then you know something's up with the sig. If it doesn't even work in the post, then you know it's yahoooooooo

YES it does...which is why there is a limit to how big the image can be.....
