Painting headlight housings

Did anyone have any problems when they painted there headlight housings. Does it effect the way the light reflects out of the housing, also about the heat factor with black paint

heat factor, i believe it can hold at least 275

I painted my Eclipse HLs black...didn't really dig the chrome look. Looked great when i was done.

Final product:
Just be wary of that gooey glue stuff, it gets every where if you're not careful, but a little goo gone works like a charm! I will be doing this w/the 5 soon also...it's on the to-do-list among other things.
