protegeclub.com4life. we don't need another forum. there's already the protegetech e-group, and this. don't need more forums to pay attention to when we already have two that kick ass.

haha what some people would do to get their own forum. I'm staying w/this forum for sure after I get my pro pretty soon.

I made a 323 forum only because the yahoo ones just plain suck:the finge and are hard to keep track of, and there are like 5 of them for every type of 323(ie. GT-R, GTX, GT, etc) I just wanted one that all 323s could use.

So if you got a 323 get your @$$ over to http://323performance.cjb.net

Well, yea no point of making same exact forum as another one. What are the chances that everyones going to leave this forum and go over there? I say it started a dead forum, and it will stay a dead forum.

Interesting...

What's the deal with that??

Oh, and no one has touched your question 90&00 Protege...

JJB December-23rd-2001 09:31 AM

yup... the quick visit confirmed it... LAME! I'm stayin' put (not that I ever considered otherwise).

The Old Guy December-24th-2001 06:04 AM

What's the big deal? This is like a business. Competition, copy cats, trash talk, etc. is going to come up along the way. It is something we got to live with. And guess what, as in business only the strong will survive. So lets look at this as another challenge instead as a threat ( which in my opinion is not much of a threat ). Lets use our energy towards keeping our forum and our beloved Proteges strong!!!! Stay cool:cool:

About the other site. I cant tell you what to say and what not to say about the site. But try not to spam his board.

NegatiZE December-24th-2001 11:56 AM

Why?!

Well said Old Guy!!!!
I agree 100%, i am commited to helping make this forum great, but i am NOT going to read through post after post of some he said, she said bullshit, or flames to another board, etc, etc...I don't give a rats ass if they're are 50 Protege forums out there. This one is here, we are established (well, getting there fast), we have great members, etc....they will all spawn from this board, just like this one did with ProtegeTech (although not quite the same, but pretty darn close) and we've managed to play well with ProtegeTech (admittedly it was easier since the differences in forums warranted it) I thought Yahoo was great until VBB came to town....i feel this is a much better layout and has much better features...anyway....to summerize....Keep helping to build this forum and who cares who makes more....just don't come here and bug us about it....an announcement is, i guess ok....but anything else is just not gonna fly with me.

Net Seven December-24th-2001 05:00 PM

Well said. This board is great.

protetype December-24th-2001 10:09 PM

Me personally, like I said before... I'll stick with this board. I think we have some (if not all) of the best educated protege people on the net. We have everyone here from business people who sell Protege parts, to those who can spout off random information about Protege's that you wouldn't normally think twice about. We've got every type of driver here who is knowledgeable about what he/she does (autox, drag, street, rally.) We're set, and I really don't think some forum who has just a few members, but has the same (for the most part) shit as this site is gonna outgrow this one. This site gets advertised on most of the members' sites including my own. And there's a crapload of us who have our own websites. I seriously think that board will stay with just a few members, and not see too much more than that. If you take a look at it... most of the members who have signed up... are people from this board, just going over there to post about why he made another forum when this one already kicks ass. Anyway, sorry about the long post. Just my 14 cents. :)

If that was directed towards me, then why would you. There is no point. All it is going to do is get one forum to dislike the other forum. In that case get protege owners vs protege owners. And if that were too happen people wouldnt be sharing information. I think the main purpose of the two forums is to have a community of protege (or any car) enthusiasts and share information and help eachother with our cars. What would you say if you needed to ask someone at protegeforum.com a question about your car because no one here knew the answer, and they would not give you a response because you primarily use this forum.

Jeff, you got it. I agree that it may seem to create tension, but we should all work together towards the sharing of information. I am very happy with this forum and will remain here until such a time that it becomes "Immature". See, I got a bunch of RX7 buddies that live on their other forum, myself included. Am I to be chastised for frequenting their protege forum. That would be "Forumiscist" or something.

See, in America we get the "Freedom of Choice", but if maturity isn't maintained, the community will lose the interest of the manufacturers and product suppliers who are willing to inform on these boards. As these endeavors are time consuming for all who work 24,7 towards finding shit for our cars.

I come here to help and be helped and will ask a question wherever it can be answered. I can understand your hostility, but I say enjoy the benefit of having more platforms to choose from.

Jeff is a good guy and I hope all works out for his as well as the communities benefit.

Merry Christmas,

Rishie

No, I wasn't directing the comment towards you. I was saying that because there is no purpose for another board when we already have two well-established ones.

Protegetech December-25th-2001 07:26 PM

Same day different topic

I do believe diversity is the best thing here. As I started back in 99 and encouraged Bruce and others to branch out on their own. BAsically it does not water down the mix . However with Protegetech (the egroup) has been around the longest and will not go away. I did away with my posting board because Jeff went to the trouble to get this set up and did a damn fine job at it as well. I have had many websites claim to tyr to unseat me and have yet to see it happen. Thats not me being full of myself but rather Protegetech has been established with name recognition and is listed everywhere. Most of the major protege sites have signed on with Jeff and Edwin to showcase their product, Protege Owners club and the Protege Faq. If there are other discussion groups great . But, as with all the others time will tell. and teh strongest will survive. plain and simple..
