jzoomer July-6th-2007 10:39 PM

i like the FN MOVIN that is awsome....

J-Protege July-7th-2007 12:20 AM

Man, that's going to be one sweet ride, haha. Too bad that engine is not turbo-able.

sumo_Bob July-7th-2007 12:21 AM

I second the FN MOVIN

I can't see said car, quick someone post an ASCII text mock-up of it! :P or just tell me what it is in text :)

edit: found in another thread.. my fav pop-up headlights ever!

nice choice!

trade for my bone-stock, adult driven Protege5?

The car IS turbo-able. There are several aftermarket turbo kits for it. They make insane power levels compared to what we're used to in the mazda market.

I'm interested in (just looking) at a remote-mount turbo system used on a 928. I'm not normally a fan of these systems because of how inefficient they are but on an engine with such high compression the 6' of charge piping will act as a huge intercooler to help keep temps down. The 928S4 with the STS turbo ran a low 12s w/ a 2.0s 60'....they claim over 425whp on 9.5psi.

If I could fab one up at about 12-14psi from a T25 I'd be doing good....probably in the neighborhood of 300-320whp.

The thing that worries me the most is the oil lines and air filter location.

Would you run a remote sump oil system (perhaps that is the norm for those setups)?

Roddimus Prime July-10th-2007 11:37 AM

yeah, they have a seperate oiling system however the air filter IS right next to the ground....not ideal like I said.

IF, and it's a BIG if, I were to do this I'd modify the trunk to house the oiling system and possibly the airfilter. I had really been scanning the engine bay to see why no'one has swapped out the intake manifold for a nice roots blower.

kinda like BrianMP5T with his 944 with millenia supercharger :)

a water-cooled roots blower would be great :)
