Neighbors

Ok, I'll do my best to describe what's going on for you all to give your input on this.

I live in an apartment and although I havn't lived here long, it seems like I'm about the 3 longest in this building. So my girlfriend and I have been living here for close to a year and we would alway park in the same spot even though we don't have assigned parking. We've got 2 cars and we would always park both of them at the end, the farthest away from the doors, to keep the number of door dings down. Now we've just gotten the P5 last week and we want to keep it nice, obviously. I've also got a Probe GT that is in really great condition too. We had been parking in these spots for months and having our cars there every day. Well, we took a short 3 day trip and when we got back there was a neighbors car there. We wern't here, dont' really have a problem with it BUT, they never moved thier car. They have taken over our spots for no reason except to be asses as far as I can tell. They dont' even have nice cars, they have an old late 80's style minivan and an early 90's 626. They minivan has no clearcoat left and is just dull and the 626 is wrecked and has been before and they didn't even bother painting the new fender, it's primered. So it is doubtful that they are trying to keep thier cars nice since the cars arn't. Every now and then we would get one of the spots back but you have to leave, and they would take it again. Now, here's the kicker, last night I left for work around 9:45-10:00. Everyones cars were there, and I had the P5 in what I used to concider my spot. I leave for work and my girlfriend comes home in the P5 about an hour and a half later (at the most) and they had gone out and moved thier damn van into my spot. THERE ARE PLENTY OF SPOTS, TAKE A CLOSER ONE!!! I'm getting so pissed at them and this shit has been going on for far too long. How can I get my spots back??
Help me before I go crazy.
Jeff

How far are these spots from you? Other than avoiding door dings, what makes the spots important to you? If the neighbors live right beside you and they park as far as you do, then there's a reason that they want those spots. Could be shade, or visibility from their apartment. I usually park somewhere I can see the car or close to a busy area so that there's a less chance of theft. As long as you don't have assigned parking, then they're free in parking anywhere they want. You can try parking somewhere else. It's not like you have your names written on the concrete.

That's the thing, where they park they can't see thier vehicles but they have the oppertunity to park right in front of thier apartment and they'd be able to check on them any time they liked. There is no shade to be had so that can't be the reason and there is no other reason I want those spots other than the door ding reason. I'm off tomorrow and I'll go out and take pictures so you can get a better perspective of the situation. It's not like we have to fight for spaces, there's enough to park.

The only thing that I can think of is that they are trying to be nice, I've got a baby and we have to lug him out to the car and maybe they think that they are being nice and letting us park closer.

You should ask my girlfriend how much this bothers me. :firehair:

I'd sugest that you just let it go, technically you have no right to say anything to them because those aren't really your parking spots and they are free to park there if they want to, maybe they're doing it just to bother you but then again maybe it's just a coincidence. I wouldn't want to have some stupid neighbors mad at me, after all you have to park your car in the same parking lot and they could do something to it while you're not there.

just my .02$

Ya man, there's nothing you can do. Just let it go and find a better spot to park! :D

Yeah, I had the same problem

The only thing that solved it now is that
the community "office" assigned parking spots
and I got the spot:D :D

The dude hates me, and often parks in my spot
and I sure as hell tow is ass , causing him to lose about
$100 each time. He thinks that he could watch the street
and see my car come in and move it, but I turn off my headlights
and call my house first before coming, and make sure that he is out of the spot

It is like a mini war down there, and we both hate each others guts.....He started it:mad:

dude i know how you feel, i have the exact same problem in my complex. for the last year i have been parking in the exact same spot. and everyone basically does the same, but just reciently this ball licker fat lady, keeps parking her saturn in my spot. im gonna piss on her door handles if she doesn't stop that crap. my advice, piss on her door handles :)

JAWZ PGT Apr 11, 2003 01:43 PM

Ok, I've tried pissing on her door handles and when that didn't work I pissed on her windshield. It doesn't work. I've been thinking about suggesting assigned parking to the office and see if they would implement that. My luck we wouldn't get the spots that we want.

Dude, no offense but, let it go. There are better things to spend your time on. If it ain't legally yours, you can't do anything about it. Next time you see them parking in your spot, think to yourself; 'They are trying to piss me off but I don't care. That's funny.' Some people just like to get a rise out of other people because then they can feel like they are dominating something. We all like to feel we are in control of everything. Think about it. If this world was exactly like you want you would be emotionless. I make no sense do I? Nick, help me out. You said so yourself, 'I've been thinking about suggesting assigned parking to the office and see if they would implement that. My luck we wouldn't get the spots that we want.' So your right. That's all you need to know. We, here on the board, don't want it to happen to any of us but we may do it without even knowing it. Maybe that couple has no idea either. Just my 4 cents (Canadian) so that 2 cents in Bush currency. :D
