My New Toy
WELL today I took the plunge, I couldn't stand it any longer.....I have stared at this beautiful monster for the last few months at the dealer and the bug bit me....
it has 103 cubic inchs of firebreathing thunder.... it makes 106 HP and 100 ft-lbs of troque at the rear wheel!!!! you say BFD...right....well consider she only weighs in at 745 pounds... this baby is as powerful as she is beautiful....shes a TORQUE MONSTER!!!!! TAKE A PEEK http://www.mazdamp3.com/members/Sir Nuke/seroadking.jpg |
Sorry not a hawg fan (ducattis are more my take) to each thier own though. It is a nice bike. It's gotta be pretty comfortable for them long trips to sturgis. Probably louder then all get out with those huge pipes sticking out the backend.:D

Be careful on that thing!!! :D

I like! Hope you have fun! Here is mine, its a Yamaha Virago. Only a 250 but its my first bike.
This isnt an actual pic of my bike but its very similar. (Mines a 96 and the picture is of a 99) http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...9/fb72d4b0.jpg |
in MY opinion....ALL bikes are good....its all just personal preference.
obviously if I was into nothing but all out speed and handling in a bike...this one would not be my choice....I would have a buel, but that is a nother story..... YES you can bet your last nickel that its comfortable. I have taken quite a few long rides on my harley over the years....and the big ones are certainly comfortable if properly outfitted. As for bikes in general.....I will tell you one thing....you can not buy a bike new, from a factory, theses days that will hold its value better than a harley.......I traded in my trusty 12 year old harley when I got this beauty....and I recieved $100 MORE for it than I paid NEW for it 12 years ago. You just can't beat that. :{D chastan.....I am ALWAYS careful......if you ride a bike on the road and are a survivor....you are either one of two things....either you are the luckiest SOB there is....or you are one of the most defensive drivers on the road.....I personally am one of the latter... I learned many years ago when you get on a bike you aquire SUPER POWERS.....but only one....the power of INVISIBILITY....the only problem is you can't control it...as soon as you get on you are invisibile to EVERYONE....especially cars and suv's......and if you ride with that in mind...and you don't get on the road and act the fool....you will be fine. |
THat's a pretty sweet bike, nuke :)
I'm also not as big of a fan of the cruiser market, but I definately still have respect for all bikes. I'd love to get a bike (my first), and I think next summer I may get one. I'm looking at either a Suzuki GS500, which i hear is a great starter bike, or a Suzuki Katana 600. I'm no necessarily Suzuki loyal, but they both seem like reasonable (cheap/fun) starter bikes. |
heres mine its about 3 months old now

I love bikes, and man sir nuke that is one sweet bike .. I love the detail and the 2 seats;) for the special ladie ... hahaha .. oh yeah ... I wanted to be a motorcycle racer when I was younger, seriously I was into it full strenth ..
But I will never sit my butt on a motorcycle(at least I have no intention to) mainly becuase I am just a bit to extreme ,, once my adrenaline rushes that's it .. there's no stoping me .. Bruce |

This is my first bike (not the exact photo). It's a 2003 Ninja. It's only 1 month old. I'll be moving on to the 600s when I get the hangout of this baby. |
what's insurance like on these bikes
|
I don't have a bike. But I can't get enough of Discovery Channels AMERICAN CHOPPERS!!! Pauly kicks A$$!
|
I think I got a quote of like $200/year from progressive for a '00 Suzuki Katana.... But that's not financed

Insurance on bikes is almost always dirt cheap.
They don't cost anywhere near as much as cars; to buy or ESPECIALLY to fix. But most importantly, they can't cause as much damage as a 3000+ lb car, so the liability is super low. ~HH |
