My Cross country weekend.
 

For those that don't know I was probably in your state this weekend. I flew from Birmingham, AL to Seattle, WA and drove Miller (anarchistchiken) home.

46hr drive with a stop in Chicago for sleep. We drove through 11 states and just over 2500 miles.

WA, ID, MT, SD, MN, WI, IL, IN, KY, TN, AL..... the nicest, cleanest city we went through?? Louisville, KY. What a gorgeous city.

did you go to china town in chicago?

no, we didn't stop anywhere but Mt. Rushmore. Too many miles left to go and too little time left.

oh. what was rushmre like?

less tyhan what you'd expect. It was a big rock with faces carved into it. It also cost $8 to park and see it. The lady tried to justify the $8 price by saying "this is for a one year pass".

Yeah lady, like someone with an alabama tag is going to be making monthly trips to rushmore to see if the rock has changed any.

What parts of TN did you go through?

Bummer .. you skipped Iowa. What car were you driving anyway?

we drove through Nashville mostly.

I heard the traffic is hell there.

nah, traffic wasn't bad anywhere really.

Then it must be rush hours that I hear about then, b/c I always hear people talking about how horrible it is.

did you cross that one bridge that overlooked a football stadium?

nope...went past wrigley field though...it was neat.

Freaking insane!

It gave me an idea of what I could expect when I attempt the Gumball 3000 in a few years. :wink:
